AAA Cards Game #108 – All You Need is LOVE

I’m here for AAA Cards Game #108.

Here’s my card using an old favorite, Uniko’s Background Builders: Squared. 

I also used a new stamplorations alphabet plate die.

My sentiment was inspired by the DC Talk song  “Luv Is A Verb.” I have heard DC Talk sing this song in person.

LUV is a verb – Chorus

Almost 22 years ago, a few days before our first child’s birth, my husband and I went to a DC Talk concert in Albuquerque.  The concert was so loud that even though we sat in the far back, she did not move a bit during the entire concert or for a long time afterwards. That worried me! Needless to say, I did not attend loud concerts during my subsequent pregnancies.

I am still a big fan of DC Talk’s former lead singer, TobyMac’s, music. Some of my favorites are Feelin’ So Fly, Love Broke Through, Lights Shine Bright,  Me Without You, and Speak Life.

Hi! I am very happy to be here with a card inspired by this week’s CASology Week 180 cue card:

My colors were inspired by “Just Us Girls” Color Week #326.

I partially die cut the snowflake so that the front panel has an opening. (It’s been a while since I’ve played at CASology and I’ve missed it. So, Yeah! Yes! I AM playing!)

Since snow falls from the sky, I’d also like to play along at  One-layer Simplicity Challenge #23 The Sky’s the Limit and Word Art Wednesday’s Challenge #217 – Anything Goes.

I’ve had some snow at my house during the past couple of days. It’s been beautiful!

Guest Designer – JUGS Challenge #312 Photo Week

Hi! I’m excited to be here with you today with my 4th post as a Just Us Girls September Guest Designer! I have had a great time at JUGs this month and I hope that you’ve been inspired to play along with the challenges. This week is Photo Week Challenge #312:

I had a lot of fun making this card and I hope you enjoy seeing it. 🙂

I used PTI’s Flower Favorites stamp set, along with a Close to My Heart set entitled Your Own Kind of Beautiful. The embossing folder is from We R Memory Keepers Spotted 2-Pack.

Guest Designer – JUGS Challenge #311

This week is Color Week Challenge #311:

Here’s my card:

I used my Hero Arts Tiny Flags Stamp to stamp in VersaMark, heat embossed with clear embossing powder and then sponged on red, orange and yellow ink. Sponging and the emboss-resist technique are 2 of my very favorite stamping techniques. The sentiment is from PTI’s Scripted stamp set.

After coloring the SU Vintage leaf with my ZIG Real Brush markers I heat embossed the leaf with clear ZING! embossing powder and used the matching die to cut it out. I’m going to play this at Uniko’s Challenge #25: AUTUMN / FALL with an optional twist of THANKS SSS Wednesday’s Simon Says: Die Crazy, SSS Monday’s Challenge: Love This Technique and Word Art Wednesday’s Challenge #201: Anything Goes.

Mermaid for CTS #140

Hi! I’m here with a card inspired by CAS(E) This Sketch #140.

Here’s my card.

I used a NBUS mermaid stamp set that my parents sent to me. Isn’t she cute?!

I also used another NBUS stamp, from PTI’s Ahoy stamp set.

I masked off the mermaid and sponged ink on for the sky. I also used my NBUS Kuretake watercolor paints to color the mermaid. I also used some Glossy Accents and a white gel pen to do make the “splash” and a gold one to add some sparkle to the mermaid’s hair. I added silver to her tail and the water with a gel pen and more Glossy Accents to her shells too. 🙂

   I’m going to play along this at CAS(E) This Sketch, Word Art Wednesday’s Challenge #200 Let’s Celebrate, Darnell’s NBUS Challenge #5 and SSS Wednesday’s Simon Says STAMPtember® Use A Stamp Challenge And Blog Hop.
