It’s Crunch Time

10 days! Ten days until the first set of movers come to pack up my family’s household goods for our final (prayerfully) international move. We won’t have our things back with us for 3-6 months.

So. I need to be reminded. The Bible says that God is good all the time. Did you know, that according to the Guinness World Records that, “Although it is impossible to obtain exact figures, there is little doubt that the Bible is the world’s bestselling and most widely distributed book.”

When all around me things seems dark and impossible…….

slide04Also, I’m currently covered with nasty itchy horrid hives from an allergic reaction to, I believe, the hazelnut trees that surround my house. So, I’ve been distracting myself with organizing my craft supplies and doing a little crafting.

I love ink blending, so I incorporated that into my reminder.

slide01There’s still so much left to do, getting ready for an agricultural inspection, separating out what will go in the next smaller shipment (bedding, towels, kitchen supplies etc. – via plane), what we’ll put into our luggage, maybe mail some things to ourselves………etc.slide03so, it is truly…

Chasing Mojo with Sweet Kobylkin – CASEing Ksenija 1

Hi! I’m here Chasing Mojo with Sweet Kobylkin. 🙂 This is a great idea that Ksenija had to help us get back into the creative mode after Christmas and New Year’s celebrations. I’ve been having a lot of fun CASEing multiple cards from those offered up at Sweet Kobylin.

I started by CASEing our hostess, Ksenija’s beautiful offering. I CASEd this card 3 different ways. I’ll share the first one in this post and save the other 2 for later.slide001slide005slide001  Here’s a quick slideshow of the process I used to CASE Ksenija’s card:

2nd Giving Thanks Blog Hop & Linky Party

Hi! I’m glad that you are here today for STAMPLorations’ Giving Thanks Blog Hop!

You should have arrived here from the lovely Cornelia Wenokor’s blog. Her card is gorgeous, isn’t it!? I love the bright green “Thankful” and the beautifully embossed and colored basket of apples. I have never used Yupo paper and colored with alcohol inks, but Cornelia’s card makes me want to try it. (Or make an apple pie! 😉 )

As you can see, we’ve got a lot of friends participating in today’s hop. You can participate in this hop multiple ways too. See all the details at the bottom of this post. After you are finished here you can continue hopping along by following my link to Amy’s post (at the bottom) or see the Inlinkz (blue frog button) under my badge at the bottom…… https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/427533497066991616/soWaayG0_400x400.png   or you can start back at the STAMPlorations Blog.

I had a blast using the Be Thankful bundle! Here’s a quick look at the BUNCH of projects that I have to share with you today:

And here’s a peek at just the start of the fun I had creating projects for this Blog Hop.

img_3311_edited-1

I heat embossed the apple bushel basket in white. Then I enjoyed water coloring the die cut images differently.

I had a lot of fun creating projects with the Be Thankful bundle.

I love this word die!

I also used the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies for these cards.
img_3512_edited-1
Next, I used a gorgeous stencil, Fall Floral Trio, on this card:

I used several masking techniques on this final card. I love the technique of combining masking and ink blending!!! Seriously, I have a callous on my left thumb right now. I think it might be from all of the ink-blending?!

img_3578_edited-1

I did some masking by sponging over a “Thankful” die cut to add the sentiment. To make the plaid design, I used Post-it labeling tape. Besides the die cut basket, the card itself is 1-layer.

img_3567_edited-2

I made the card base slightly smaller than the standard 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ so that the card, with the basket overhanging the edge, will still fit in a standard envelope.

I also made a tag with the Luggage Tags Nesting Dies.preview-stamplorations-luggagetags

img_3540_edited-2
I made a stencil with the hugs die and sponged red and yellow ink through my homemade stencil.

I love this cheery set of cards. 🙂img_3323_edited-1

A Plaid Leaf

Hi! I’m here with a card inspired by several fun Fall Challenges.

img_3679edited_edited-2

I created the plaid leaf by first sponging an ombre background (red to yellow from the stem to the leaf tip). Then I repeatedly masked off portions of the leaf and sponged on ink. I love using this technique.

img_3675edited_edited-2

I used a “Thankful” die from CUTplorations.

img_3690edited_edited-2

I sponged on a red band and attached the white panel to the orange cardstock.

img_3729_edited-1I attached the leaf and the die cut with foam tape.

img_3691edited_edited-2

I really like this card. A plaid leaf!? Sponging, ink blending, lots of red (my favorite color to use when making cards), ombre Autumn colors? I don’t normally make the same card twice, but I may have to repeat this one. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!

Melissa
