AAA Cards Game #114: Tic Tac Toe

Hi! I’m back with a fun new challenge for AAA Cards.

Special tips for competing (and being eligible to win) in this game:

  1. As always, we’re looking for Clean and Simple (CAS) greeting cards, BUT for this game please make sure to complete one line of the Tic Tac Toe board above.
  2. As always and for all of our games our definition of Clean and Simple means that white space should not be patterned, embossed or textured in any way at all.

Here’s my one-layer card. I used GOLD, ONE-LAYER and MASKING. (I also used a colored cardbase and blue.) Anyhow, besides “flowers” and “watercolors” I think that I filled every other square. Which, of course, was not the challenge, but it was fun to see how many of the boxes I could tic!

I’ve been trying to NOT use flowers on ALL of my cards. I seem to use flowers and butterflies a lot.I’d like to have some masculine cards in my stash. What do you think? I really wanted to fit some water-colored flowers on in the background before stenciling, but I resisted. 🙂

I used STAMPlorations Chevron Crazy – ARTplorations Stencil and a die from the For the Birds die set.

I also used the “Be Strong” stamp from the Typografia in Faith collection.

Be sure to stop by the AAA Cards challenge blog to enjoy my teammate’s super Clean and Simple Cards.

I hope that you enjoyed visiting today and I hope that you’ve been inspired to play along.

Thanks for stopping by!
Grace & Peace,
Melissa

Butterfly in the Flower Garden – Thank You

Hi! Quick post with a “just for fun” card for some of my favorite CAS challenges.

I used the new Bloomtangled die (#1) to die cut a panel and then used the die cut paper as a stencil. I also created a couple of die-cut stencil/masks and did some masking to make this one-layer card.

I applied the solid butterfly mask to the card front and stenciled over it with the large cover plate stencil. Then I removed the stencil and the mask. Next, I masked off the butterfly several times, using the negative and positive butterfly die cuts to stencil the butterfly.

I used the butterfly mask and butterfly stencil to make 2 other cards.

I think that it is a lot of fun to get 3 cards for 1!

I’d better get out of my warm bed now!

Lots of things going on here today.

There’s very cold, windy, wintry weather, a special birthday and planning for our week.

There’s longer term planning to do for the coming gardening season too.

To look out of my window, you’d think that would be far away, but it’ll be here soon.

It was 10° Fahrenheit when my husband checked the temperature before we went to bed last night. He’s bringing in lots more firewood now because we’re going to be having some abnormally low temperatures this week.

Pretty soon there will be butterflies, but for now there is snow.

Thanks for stopping by!

STAMPlorations March Challenge – All About Spring and Faith

Hi! I’m here with a special post for STAMPlorations March Challenge.

No automatic alt text available.

You’ve probably heard by now that STAMPlorations owner and designer, Shery Russ, welcomed a daughter named “Winter” to the family in December. In order to give Shery some time to catch her breath we are going to take a little “Winter” break!

There will be just one STAMPlorations challenge for you to join for the months of February, March and April. You’ll find it announced on STAMPlorations blog the 5th of each of those months. The challenge will have a theme and as long as you follow the theme, any type of project is welcome! We’ll return to our regular schedule in May.

Here’s my card using STAMPlorations: Faith – Typografia In FaithBig Bloom Factory and CUTplorations: Flutter Zen 1 Layering Dies.

Lots of masking, stamping, a rainbow of color, a great sentiment stamp and a surprise of hidden butterflies.

So, our theme for the February challenge is All About Spring and Faith! What does that make you think of?

I had a lot of fun making this card. I hope that you enjoyed seeing it and have been inspired to create something for this month’s challenge. Take a look at what some of the DT STAMPgirls created.

TAGplorations – All About Christmas – December 2017

Hi! I am happy to be here with you for a super monthly challenge at STAMPlorations, TAGplorations.

Our Theme for this month is:
“All About Christmas”
with an optional twist of GLITTER
Important info:
1. The TAGplorations Challenges will start on the 1st Tuesday of the month.
2. We will have a mid-month reminder on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.
3. Projects are to based on our monthly theme (with or without the optional twist).
4. We will be featuring CUTplorations tag dies.
Please see the below for more PRIZE details and a COUPON.

Here’s my tag, using CUTplorations Manila Tags Nesting Dies.

I stamped the sentiment on the tag in embossing ink and heat embossed.  I also stamped it another time on masking paper. I carefully fussy cut the letters and words out of the masking paper and applied the “stickers” (masks) over the stamped image on the tag.

I also made several tree masks using the same method. Then I stamped the trees over the masked off sentiment and the masked trees. I finished by coloring with Zigs and embellishing with gold gel pen and red glitter glue.

I also used the STAMPlorations Come Adore HimTypografia Christmas & Sketchy Yule Trees.

I’m happy to be part of this fun Tag challenge at STAMPlorations and hope that you will join in the fun.

Check out the TAGplorations PRIZE details and COUPON code below.
