XOXO Butterfly with Hearts

Hi! I’m here with a quick post.

slide02  This card showcases many of my favorite tools, things and techniques.slide01I used the color red, ink-blending, hearts, butterflies, ‘XOXO’, camouflaged die cutting, and white space all together on 1 card! Ahhhhh!slide01

First I did some ink-blending on white cardstock. I used a Papertrey Ink Heart Cover to die cut the ink-blended hearts.slide04Then, I adhered a pattern of hearts to the white cardstock. I die cut the Happy Little Stampers Butterfly from the center of the heart pattern.

slide03I added the red card base and the attached the heart panel. I added the butterfly with foam tape. I finished by adding the HLS “XOXO” sentiment.

slide02I hope that you enjoyed your visit.

Thanks for stopping by!

Grace & Peace,

Everyday Sentimentsimg_3630edited_edited-2I repeat stamped the Christmas sentiment in green on watercolor paper.img_3624edited_edited-2I die cut a circle and then heat embossed the “Merry” in silver onto shiny green cardstock.img_3629edited_edited-2I punched a small banner from silver cardstock and punched a small hole in the top.img_3623edited_edited-2I attached the watercolor panel to a white card base.

img_3628edited_edited-2I added silver thread, tucked it between the watercolor paper and the card base at the top and then assembled the ornament by attaching the pieces to the card front with foam tape.

My card is sort of a combination of the circle in the sketch and the balls & green and white colors from the photo.

P.S. Here’s a fun song by Steven Curtis Chapman (one of my favorite singers) called “Christmas Time Again” for you to enjoy.

Happy Little Stampers November 2016 Mixed Media Challenge – Alcohol Inks

Hi! I’m very happy to be here with you today with a card for Happy Little Stampers November Mixed Media Challenge.

Our  challenge:

slide01I started this card with a yellow card base and stamped the flowers in embossing ink and heat embossed in red.

slide02

I used Happy Little Stampers’ Doodle Flowers.

Doodled Flowers

slide03The way these flowers turned out reminds me of a book from my childhood called Andy Pandy – in the country. I used some smooshed Brusho Crystal Colors to create a background paper for the fussy cut flowers.

15843817

Have you read this before? I’ll bet some of my U.K. friends have. I love it. 🙂 I’d show you some more photos of it, but my copy is in long-term storage in Albuquerque and I’m in Germany now. 😦 You never know what you’ll miss when you put things into storage!

Anyhow, the fussy cut flower on the sentiment strip especially reminds me of an illustration of Looby Loo and some red poppies. I’d love to see that page, so if you have a copy and want to email it to me please do!

I colored in the background and the flowers with Copic and Spectrum alcohol markers.  slide04So! I hope that you have enjoyed seeing my bright flowery card on what might be a gray day in you part of the world? Are you excited to join in with our Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media challenge?!

Thanks for stopping by!

Grace & Peace,
