AAA Cards Game #94 – One Layer

Hi! I’m happy to be here today with a post for AAA Cards Game #94 – One Layer.

AAA Cards is a bi-weekly challenge blog for Clean and Simple (CAS) Cards. Unless otherwise stated in the blog post for a particular challenge only players who submit cards will be eligible to be a winner.

Here’s my card using Happy Little Stampers’ Doodled Flowers and Butterfly Dies . I made my own butterfly stencil using the HLS butterfly die.

Some stenciling (sponged the 3 yellow butterflies, stenciled with a die cut, homemade stencil)+ some masking + repeat stamping + white gel pen & a sentiment =a bright and beautiful, butterflies and blooms, 1-layer, CAS card.

The Mixed Media Card Challenge #22 – April – Sunshine – Reminder 2

The Mixed Media Card Challenge

Hi! Thank you for spending some of your time to visit me. 🙂 I’m very happy to be here today with a reminder for The Mixed Media Card Challenge’s Challenge #22 – April – Sunshine.

Here’s our challenge graphic:

I smooshed yellow ink, stencilled with an ARTplorations stencil and a yellow Gelatos stick, sponged a darker yellow through a chevron stencil

and then stamped with some of the large Trendy Butterflies stamps. I’d like to play this along at Double D Challenges:’YELLOW’ A Happy Place To Be.

Next, I inked up a large sentiment stamp with more a rainbow of Gelatos. IMG_6707edited However, when I stamped the sentiment, it did not come off as clearly as I would have liked, so I re-stamped, slightly off the color, with black. This card makes me a bit uncomfortable, as it is not as “clean” as I like my mixed media to be….I went with it anyway. 🙂

Next, I added some small black Trendy Butterflies. I’d like to play this along at ARTplorations Flash Stencil Project Linky Party.

IMG_6715edited Finally I added the yellow cs sun which I had colored with some more Gelatos and added a white & black mat and a dark yellow card base.

I used red, orange, yellow and turquoise Gelatos, did some stenciling with my ARTplorations Chevron stencil (the closest I had to bricks) and did some stamping and die cutting.

AAA Cards Challenge #47: Spectacular Embossing & an Exciting Announcement

Well Hello! Thanks for visiting today. I’m so excited to have you here because I have a fun announcement to share with you. With this post, I have the honor & privilege of joining the ladies at AAA Cards as one of 3 new members of the AAA Cards Design Team!

This week’s Challenge#47 is Spectacular Embossing.

Here’s my card:

I am truly “Giving Thanks” to the ladies at AAA Cards for inviting me to be part of their team! I had fun with this card and used a couple of my favorite techniques, sponging/ink-blending and emboss resist. I learned these techniques from Laura Bassen in her “Craftsy” class.

After stamping my image in VersaMark and heat embossing with clear embossing powder, I did some ink blending on top of the butterfly. I really enjoy using this stamp! The sentiment if from PTI’s Scripted stamp set. I highly recommend this set.
