Happy Little Stampers Watercolor Challenge – May 2017 – Red

Welcome back to Happy Little Stampers’ Watercolor Challenge.

All of our Happy Little Stampers’ Watercolor Challenges are Anything Goes with an optional twist. The only rule is that you use water coloring or a watercolor technique on your entry. You may enter as many times as you like and you do NOT have to use HLS products to enter.

This month’s challenge:

As always at Happy Little Stampers’ challenges……..we have a prize for you!

We would like to welcome our Guest Designer, Helen, for this challenge!

Here’s my (I ❤ RED and butterflies 🙂 ) card using Happy Little Stampers Butterfly Dies and HLS Doodled Flowers for the sentiment.
img_6443_edited-1

First, I stamped some hearts and then die cut the butterfly.  img_6446_edited-1

I added some swipes of red to the die cut, hearty panel.

img_6444_edited-1

I heat embossed the sentiment in white on another panel and then watercolored various shades of red on top.

img_6439_edited-1

I allowed the panels to dry and adhered the red panel to a white card base. Then I added the die cut panel with foam tape.  img_6452_edited-1

My teammates and I are excited about this monthly watercolor challenge and we sure do hope that you are going to enjoy joining in too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Grace & Peace,

I also used the CUTplorations word die, “thanks”.

I have a discount code for you! Shery, of STAMPlorations, has generously given me a code to share with you.

Use COUPON code STAMPGIRLMELISSA and receive 20% OFF at STAMPlorations!

I also used these lovely snowflake dies.

Here’s a quick slideshow of how I pieced together the travel mugs.

slide007I continued to piece together the mugs (and then pieced in the snowflake and “thanks’ into the popped up mug) and dry embossed the group on the card front.

slide006  slide002I had a lot of fun using this technique. I love paper piecing and bold, bright, graphic designs.

Thank you, Amy and all of you coffee-lovers, I’ve been so glad to be with you as the Guest Designer for January at Coffee Loving Cardmakers.

Thanks for stopping by!
Grace & Peace,

Chasing Mojo with Sweet Kobylkin – CASEing Angela Tarasenko

Hi! I’m back again Chasing Mojo with Sweet Kobylkin. 🙂 This is a great idea that Ksenija had to help us get back into the creative mode after Christmas and New Year’s celebrations. I’ve been having a lot of fun CASEing multiple cards from those offered up at Sweet Kobylin.

I’ve been so inspired by many of the cards and would love to CASE them all! I wonder, is it possible?

For this card, I CASEd the lovely Kraft card by Angela.

Here’s my CASE, using a here-to-for uninked background stamp. NBUS!

slide01Stampers Anonymous Studio 490 Wendy Vecchi Stamps - Vintage Lace Background Stamp WVBG015 slide03I’m pretty new to coloring on Kraft, so I kept it simple by heat embossing the large image and coloring in the spaces. slide02How about a rainbow in snowy January? slide04

I added some rainbow hemp cord that I won a few years ago from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Hemptique Rainbow Hemp Cord Twine 62.5mI added a big “Thank You” which I heat embossed onto vellum. I fussy cut away most of the vellum in order to expose the card-front.

Coffee Loving Cardmakers: January Guest Designer – January 6, 2017

https://i0.wp.com/coffeelovingcardmakers.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/GuestDesignerSlider.jpg

Hi! I’m very happy to be with you today with a post as the January Guest Designer for Coffee Loving Cardmakers!

Want to warm up with some tea? I love me a BIG cup of tea, especially on a day like today. It was 16°F (that’s about -9°C, right?)  when I checked the temperature this morning! BRRRRR! You’d never know that I grew up in Maine!

index

I’ve become a WEATHER WIMP! I’d better toughen up because my family and I are moving back to Maine this Spring!

Anyway, nothing like warm tea on a COLD day!

slide007Thanks so much, Amy, for inviting me!

🙂

I have 4 (+ 1 = 5) CAS cards to share with you today. slide011

I’d be very happy if you’d like to……

FOLLOW ME ON BLOGLOVIN’!

slide001I’d like to play this red version along at FUSION. I flipped the sketch and used the photo for inspiration too. Happy 3rd Anniversary!

I decided that I needed to increase the number of masculine cards in my stash, so I took this opportunity to do so.

I used the CUTplorations die to make my stamp.CUTplorations-coffeecup-preview

I have a fun discount code for you! Shery, of STAMPlorations, has generously given me a code to share with you.

Use COUPON code STAMPGIRLMELISSA and receive 20% OFF at STAMPlorations!slide001To make these cards, first, I created a homemade foam stamp, using the die, and stamped the cup with steam. This is a new technique to me and was inspired by Jennifer McGuire in one of her recent videos on how to stretch your supplies. I stamped 3 blue cups and 1 black one and 1 red one.slide006

Here’s a quick slideshow of the process that I used to make the red stamped card.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

For this blue card, I used a CUTplorations ‘thanks’ word die, sponged with Hero Arts blue dye ink.

slide007

Then, I triple-stacked for the sentiment on this first card. I’d like to play this card at CASology. The blue is a cool/cold color and I love to drink tea when it is cold outside. slide006Using the negative from the die cut on the first card, I made a ‘thanks’ stencil and sponged the thanks onto this next card.slide009I fussy cut my stencil out and added that as the sentiment on this third card.slide008

I kept this next card very basic and B&W. slide010

I cut around the negative space that remained from one of the white ‘thanks’  die cuts from the first card (above – the card with the blue ‘thanks’ stacked on top of several white ones) and attached the white outline as the sentiment on this card.      slide001slide008

slide012I had a lot of fun using this technique. I loved how the homemade stamp printed the image. I enjoyed it so much that I have 2 more cards to share with you next week. Those two are less CAS and I’m excited to share those with you too. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!
Grace & Peace,
Melissa

P.S. Here’s a fun video for your encouragement. Happy New Year!

P.P.S. Here’s the coupon code again. There’s no expiration, as long as I’m a STAMPlorations Girl, this code will be valid.
