Texture Kissing for Zinnia

Here I am with a post for the week’s Make It Monday #219: Texture Kissing. Lizzie showed a super fun way to use the “Kissing Technique” to add texture to our stamped images. I’m going to have fun with this technique!

I used berry colors, SU’s Blushing Bribe, Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and Elegant Eggplant. I’m going to play this first card over at Less is More’s Week 235 Colour Challenge:Berry Shades.

My cards were also inspired by this week’s One-Layer Simplicity Challenge #19: Strip Down. First I masked off my card fronts (1 Classic Crest Cover Solar White 110 & 1 Pink Pirouette) and then I sponged on some SU Pink Pirouette ink.IMG_9126edited

Then I used PTI’s BloomersFlower Favorites and Good Times stamp sets.IMG_9128editedI’m going to share this over at HLS’ August CAS Challenge: Masking. Make sure you go on over and check out all off the DT’s super creations and play along!!

I made 2 one-layer cards with berry colors. I was going for a Zinnia-like look in honor of my niece who is due to be born any day now! I can’t wait to see photos of the newest little flower in my family!https://i0.wp.com/www.thegardenhelper.com/psd/zinnia_elegans_2.jpg

Triangles & Flowers

Today I have a bright and fun card to share with you. It was inspired by JUG’s Photo Challenge #303.

Here’s my card:

I masked off a circle, stamped a Hero Arts Tiny Flags bg stamp with VersaMark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I sponged on TH Squeezed Lemonade, Hero Arts Blue, SU Pumpkin Pie and Cucumber Crush ink. Next, I ironed off the embossing powder.

Then I stamped the flowers with a stamp from PTI’s Flower Favorites and added the die cut sentiment. I’m also going to play this over at SSS’s Wedneesday Challenge:Anything Goes and  WAW’s Challenge #193.

Thanks for stopping by!

ATSM Challenge #155 – Photo

Wow! Is this a fun and inspiring photo that we have for our photo inspiration challenge #155 at ATSM this week or what!?

I was so inspired that I made 4 cards with the Silhouette – butterfly image generously supplied by this week’s ATSM Challenge #155 sponsor Bugaboo Digi Stamps.

IMG_6202editedI printed 2 butterflies on Classic Crest Solar White cs and 2 on water-color paper. I colored all of the butterflies images in with my SU! Stamp & Write Markers.

For this first card, I masked off the butterfly with some Inkadinkado Stamping Mask Paper. Then I stamped the flowers with the Black-eyed Susan stamp from PTI’s Flower Favorites. I really like this multi-step stamp! All of the inks a Stampin’ Up. I used a white gel pen to outline the butterfly. The “hello” is from PTI’s Noted Stamp Set. That is heated embossed in black. I’m going to play this next card at SSS’s Wednesday’s Anything Goes Challenge.

IMG_6186editedAfter coloring this next butterfly, I covered it with Glossy Accents. Then I used the “smooshing” technique, made famous by Laura Bassen to make the background and then added some Smooch Spritz. The red heat-embossed sentiment is from PTI’s Sentiment Splits.

I’m going to play this card over at Cropstop’s Linky Party #6 – Anything Goes.

IMG_6176editedFor this 3rd card I used some masking fluid to cover the colored-in butterfly and then sponged on some SU! So Saffron and Tim Holtz Squeezed Lemonade distress ink for the background. I’m going to play this card over at WAW’s Challenge #194.

IMG_6193editedI used an emboss-resist technique for this 4th card. The flower stamp is from Jane’s Doodles Pretty Peonies. After heat embossing with clear embossing powder, I sponged on a variety of SU! pinks, yellows and the Squeezed Lemonade distress ink. My 2 youngest daughters wanted me to added some pink glitter embossing powder. So I did. 🙂

Melissa Black
Is that cool or what?! I am so excited to start my 6 month term with ATSM on July 1rst! I am going to celebrate by joining in and playing a card for this week’s ATSM Challenge #150: Photo Inspiration. Make sure you play along!

I made 2 cards inspired by this photo. The first card was also designed with Make It Monday #215: Bringing the Inside Out in mind. Danielle has a fun challenge for us to try. She’s encouraging us to a decorate both the outside of the card and the inside by creating a peek-a-boo window. Here is a card that I made with that in mind:

IMG_6845editedI decorated both the outside of the card above, along with the inside too. I’m also playing this over at SSS’s Monday Challenge: Simon Says Anything Goes.

Here’s Danielle’s oh, so pretty card:

I used the beautiful painting below as inspiration while I stamped my white irises. I stamped the iris image upside down and right side up in white/SU! Craft ink. That made my irises look more like the one in the painting.

White IrisI smooshed the background of both cards with SU’s new Cucumber Crush. I think smooshing may be one of my favorite techniques. You just never know what you’re going to get, but it’s (almost) always beautiful. And Oooo, I love this new color green! I also sponged (another favorite technique) some Pool Party ink onto this second card and then popped up panel.

IMG_6842edited I used PTI’s Flower Favorites Stamp set for both of these cards. I am really really really liking these stamps!

Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. Did you see my news this past week?! I’m super excited about being one of the newest Design Team Members over at The Mixed Media Card Challenge. 🙂 What a blessing and an incredible opportunity!! I’m humbled to have been chosen to be on 3 design teams.
