Here’s a mini calendar page that I made using the ARTplorations stencil Chevron Crazy.The calendar measures approximately 5 3/4″ x 8 3/4″ or 14.5 x 22.25 cm matted.

First, I created the rainbow panel with Brushos and the Chevron Crazy stencil on watercolor paper.
After the panel dried, I added white embossing paste through the same stencil.
I matted the rainbow chevron panel with blue and white cardstock.
I sponged blue ink through the same stencil again, around the edge of the entire matted panel.5. I designed the little calendar as a word document and printed it onto white cardstock. I die cut the calendar with the smallest of the CUTplorations Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies.

6. I decorated the calendar by sponging a variety of inks through the Chevron Crazy stencil once again.

7. I inked the edges of the calendar by swiping it across a turquoise ink pad and then attached it with foam tape.

ARTplorations Stencil Hop – December 14, 2016

Here’s a mini calendar page that I made using the ARTplorations stencils

Dots All Over and Flourishes.

The calendar measures approximately 5 3/4″ x 8 3/4″ or 14.5 x 22.25 cm matted.

First I heat embossed the flourishes in silver.
I sponged on red ink over the silver embossing.
Next, I stenciled red embossing paste through the Dots All Over stencil onto silver foil cardstock..
I matted the red and silver flourishes panel with white linen cardstock.

5. I designed the little calendar as a word document and printed it onto white cardstock. It measures about 4″ x 2 1/4″ or 4 cm x 5.75 cm.

6. I decorated the calendar by sponged red ink through the Dots All Over stencil, added some silver gel pen accents and inked the edges of the calendar by swiping it across a red ink pad and then attached it with foam tape.

7. I matted the entire project with linen cardstock stenciled with the flourishes stencil in red.

Stencil Sunday – Friendship Canvas – October 23, 2016

Hi! I’m here with a post for today’s STAMPlorations’ Stencil Sunday for October 23.

I have my first ever mixed media canvas to share with you today. To make this canvas, I used a variety of ARTplorations stencils and a wide variety of techniques and mediums too. This is a photo of my friend, Cindy, and I last Spring when she came to visit me.

I started working on this canvas months ago and set it aside because I just could not get it to work out the way I wanted it too. I don’t seem to have a good photo of the original try, but you can see it in the top left corner of the photo below:

Originally, I had used blues and greens and lots of white and had stamped a sentiment and some butterflies and stenciled some hearts too. The cool colors did not make me happy. Also, I had used a smaller version of the photo and had adhered it directly onto the canvas. I had stamped a sentiment over the edge of the photo and, anyhow, I did not like the results. So I picked it up again recently and reworked the colors to compliment the tulips in the photograph. I added some more texture with heat embossing and embossing paste.The ARTplorations stencils, Retro Circles, Dots All Over, which I used on this are all beautiful and fun to play with. I also used some STAMPlorations stamps (Framed Tea Cups and Big Bloom Factory(fussy cut the flowers)) and the CUTplorations Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies.

Cindy and I love tea and have enjoyed having tea together at our houses. Can you see the Framed tea Cups? I stamped them on either side of the framed photo.

Now, I’m quite pleased with the results.
