Stars & Hearts

Hi! I’m here with a card that I have been wanting to make for several years now. I’ve had an inspiration card, made by Jaclyn Miller, Pinned on my “Cards I want to CASE – Squares” board since I don’t know when! I thought that the current challenge at Virginia’s View, Challenge #18, would be the perfect opportunity to try CASE-ing it. 🙂 Also, since using graphic design and die cuts is one of my favorite techniques I’m going to play this at SSS Monday’s Challenge: Love This Technique.

Muse #127 Inspired-2

Today I have a couple of CAS cards to share with you.

Here’s my card. I’m going to play this card at  Muse’s Challenge #127.IMG_9772edited2

The layout for my card is a pretty close CASE of this week’s Muse’s, Joan Bardee’s, card.

I changed up the color usage a bit though. I used parts my PTI Wee Folk Kit for this card.

I am happy to report that we got lots and lots of rain here last night. We read that we were supposed to get 12-15 INCHES! Torrential! There was a storm in our area and it stayed for about 4 hours. Our yard here in Germany was beginning to remind me of our yard in Edgewood, N.M.!! We so needed that rain!!

Today, instead of the 95 F (35.2 C) at 10:50 a.m that we had on Saturday, it is currently 72 at 12:30! Thank you, LORD!

1-layer Square Happy Anniversary w/ hearts

Today I have a one-layer card to share with you. This is going to be a quick post because my husband is home today and we have a project to work on before it gets too blazing hot outside!

It’s currently 95 F (35.2 C) at 10:50 a.m.!

Here’s my card:IMG_9572edited

I used my PTI Hearts Cover Plate Die to make a mask/stencil for this card.

IMG_9567edited

I’ve had the hearts cover plate die for a while now. I really really like it! The layout of this card reminds me of this week’s Muse’s, Joan Bardee’s, card.

Many similarities here, don’t you think? Lots of white space, sentiment as the focal point, little leaves in the letters, hearts…… :).

IMG_9593edited

I also used PTI’s Stacked sentiments.  IMG_9583editedThis was the first time I’d inked up any of the Stacked Sentiments.  I think that I’m going enjoy using these over and over again. I think I might ask Santa for the dies to go with these stamps. 🙂 (I think I’ve already maxed out my birthday wish list for PTI dies!)IMG_9601edited  I’m going to play this at  One-Layer Simplicity Challenge #19, Strip Down, Muse’s Challenge #127, CASolgy’s: Week 158 Precious, LIM’s Week 235 Color: Berry Shades. P.S. As a member of the Sketch DT at HLS, I’m sharing this over at HLS’ CAS Challenge: Masking. I’m not playing it there, but you you should definitely play along over at the CAS challenge this month!

Thankful A-Musing Hearts

IMG_0941

I used PTI’s Heart Cover Plate Die to  partially die cut the hearts and then I did some fussy cutting.

My card was inspired by Marion’s fabulous one below.

IMG_0939

Marion is the Muse this week for Muse’s challenge #105. I really really like Marion’s card!

IMG_0902

Like Marion, I also did some ink blending. Then I trimmed the paper into two pieces, rounded the corners and drew the wavy lines on the ink-blended watercolor paper with a white gel pen.

Maybe not so CAS as the other one behind it (below)? Not sure about that, but maybe it’s a good fit for CASology’s Week #134; Monochrome Challenge?
