Stencil Sunday – September 25

Hi! I’m here with a quick post for today’s STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday.

I have a bunch of ATCs to share with you today. They are in various stages of completion.

IMG_1467ATCSedited

To make these, I used a variety of ARTplorations stencils and a wide variety of techniques and mediums too. I am an ATC newbie and am just now discovering how fun these can be to make! The ARTplorations stencils, Some Birds, Retro Circles, Happy Flowers and Hearts All Over which I used on these all are beautiful and fun to play with.

Stencil Sunday – August 14

Hi! I’m here with a quick post for today’s STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday.

IMG_9757edited

I made a tag, attached an ATC and another small sentiment tag. The base of the tag, the part with the circles, is made out of left overs from a previous product. I added some color with my Zig Markers and I had a lovely base to start off my tag. I love using left overs from my stash to create beautiful things!

The ARTplorations stencils, Retro Circles, Happy Flowers and Hearts in Bubbles which I used on this project all are beautiful and fun to play with.

If you’d like to know more about how I made the base for this tag, please head over here to this post.

Mixed Media Challenge + Stencil Sunday – August Mini Calendar

Hi!  I’m so happy and excited to be here with as a member of the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Design team with a project for Stencil Sunday and the August Mixed Media Challenge.
Remember to add the following challenge graphic to your post in order to be eligible for the prizes each month.
The winner will receive a $15 STAMPlorations gift certificate or 2 ARTplorations stencils. And the top picks receive an ARTplorations stencil of their choice.

Here’s a mini calendar page that I made using the ARTplorations Stencils – Happy Flowers,Shower of Flutters and Retro Circles.

IMG_9632augustcalendar

IMG_9773augustcalendar

The calendar measures approximately 5 3/4″ x 8 3/4″ or 14.5 x 22.25 cm matted.IMG_9776augustcalendar

I repeatedly sponged a variety of blue-hued butterflies onto my panel of cardstock with the Shower of Flutters mask/stencil.

See them fluttering around in the background? 🙂IMG_9629augustcalendar

Then I stenciled the Happy Flowers with red and green ink, sponged embossing ink over the flowers and heat embossed the them with clear embossing powder. IMG_9782augustcalendar

I matted the panel with black cardstock and then, using the ARTplorations Retro Circles stencil,  I sponged on white pigment ink and embossed with white embossing powder.

IMG_9638augustcalendar

I designed the little calendar as a word document and printed it onto white cardstock. It measures about 4″ x 2 1/4″ or 4 cm x 5.75 cm.

IMG_9787augustcalendar

I inked the edges of the calendar by swiping it across a black ink pad and attached it with foam tape. Lastly I matted the entire project in white cardstock.

IMG_9784augustcalendar

I had a lot of fun creating this calendar page and I hope that you have been inspired to create your own mixed media projects! I’d be very glad to have you join us for the mixed media challenge this month. I’m so excited to be here with you and I can’t wait to see what you make!

Please remember that this is not a card challenge…it’s anything BUT a card.  🙂

To be sure that you’re eligible for the prizes each month, please create a mixed media project, add a link to the challenge and also remember to show the Mixed Media challenge graphic. Please check out what the rest of the design team has made here.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stencil Sunday – July 2016 – A decorative plaque from a broken tile

Hi!  I’m very happy to be here with a post for STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday.

Here’s a plaque that I created using the ARTplorations Stencil – Happy Flowers and a stamp from Trendy Birds.

IMG_9767birdplaque

It’s a a broken roof tile (I think that is what it is? Maybe one of my German friends will know?)  I found it in a pile of other broken roof tiles, pottery, shingles and bricks on a dirt road in the hills of the Oberammergau area of Germany. This was the largest piece there, most of the others were about the size of your hand. Making this plague reminded me of a  the Old Testament book of Isaiah, chapter 61.IMG_9771birdplaque

       How I made this project:

  1. Washed & dried tile.
  2. Sponged embossing ink through the flower portions of Happy Flowers – ARTplorations Stencil.

    IMG_8914birdplaque

  3. Added red embossing powder & heated with heat embossing tool.
  4. Sponged embossing ink through the stem portions of Happy Flowers – ARTplorations Stencil.IMG_9772birdplaque
  5. Added green embossing powder & used heat embossing tool to set.
  6. Added yellow Gelatos to center of flowers.
    IMG_9769birdplaque
  7. Sponged embossing ink all over flowers and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
  8. Stamped the bird (Trendy Birds) and the sentiment in black ink and added clear EP and heat set.IMG_8917birdplaque
  9. Added white acrylic paint to bird.
  10. Colored grass and sky with Gelatos, added clear embossing powder and heat set.
I had a lot of fun creating this plaque and I hope that you have been inspired to create your own mixed media projects! Please check out my teammates’, MariLynn’s and Susanne’s, projects here.
Thanks for stopping by!

AAA Cards Challenge #69 – Stash Favorite

I’m happy to be here today for AAA Cards Game #69 – Stash Favorite.

Thank you to our sponsor:
Stampendous

This week we have a special guest designer joining us, Ksenija of Sweet Kobylkin.

Welcome, Ksenija, we are so happy to have you with us!

🙂

STENCILS!

I love ink-blending and using stencils. Besides butterfly stamps and dies, stencils are definitely a stash favorite of mine!

The particular stencil which I used for the card featured in this post is definitely a favorite from my stash.

preview-web-stencil-027-happyflowers.jpeg

I’ve used it in many different ways, from CAS cards to Mixed Media mini calendar pages. I haven’t tired of using it. It is truly does make me ‘happy’ when I get to use it!

Here’s a card I made using the Happy Flowers ARTplorations Stencil:

IMG_7919edited

As I made this card, it was rainy and the wind was blowing. I was feeling a bit blue – my husband was away for the week.

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink’s Choose Joy Stamp Set.

Choose Joy Stamp Set

I made this card using muted colors as opposed to the usually vibrant palette I’m accustomed to using.

I stenciled with a pink ink for the blossoms and green for the stems. Next I moved the stencil, slightly to the left side of the original image and repeated the stenciling. This time I stenciled with yellow ink through the entire image. The slightly off center stenciling makes the flowers appear as if they are blowing in the breeze.

IMG_7926edited

I hope that you are inspired to play along. Make sure you stop by AAA Cards and visit all of the design team members blogs.

Here are 3 galleries of some of my other stenciled projects from the past year.

All photos below are

>CLICKABLE<

If you’d like to know more about a particular card, please click on it. A new tab will open for you and you’ll be taken to the original post for that card. 🙂

Here, I have Gallery 1: Clean and Simple – CAS, like what we’d like to see you entering into our challenge at AAA Cards this week. IMG_6622edited

IMG_6627edited

IMG_7736edited

IMG_5818editedIMG_7735edited

So, I’d consider the first 4 cards to be quite CAS. (Five if you were to include today’s post’s card.) What do you think?

Now on to the cards in Gallery #2 – those which I would consider borderline CAS and Mixed Media CAS.

Like I said, besides butterfly stamps, stencils are definitely a stash favorite!
