STAMPlorations March Challenge – All About Spring and Faith

Hi! I’m here with a special post for STAMPlorations March Challenge.

No automatic alt text available.

You’ve probably heard by now that STAMPlorations owner and designer, Shery Russ, welcomed a daughter named “Winter” to the family in December. In order to give Shery some time to catch her breath we are going to take a little “Winter” break!

There will be just one STAMPlorations challenge for you to join for the months of February, March and April. You’ll find it announced on STAMPlorations blog the 5th of each of those months. The challenge will have a theme and as long as you follow the theme, any type of project is welcome! We’ll return to our regular schedule in May.

Here’s my card using STAMPlorations: Faith – Typografia In FaithBig Bloom Factory and CUTplorations: Flutter Zen 1 Layering Dies.

Lots of masking, stamping, a rainbow of color, a great sentiment stamp and a surprise of hidden butterflies.

So, our theme for the February challenge is All About Spring and Faith! What does that make you think of?

I had a lot of fun making this card. I hope that you enjoyed seeing it and have been inspired to create something for this month’s challenge. Take a look at what some of the DT STAMPgirls created.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Little Stampers September Mixed Media Challenge – Collage

Hi! I’m very happy to be here with you today with a project for Happy Little Stampers’ Mixed Media Challenge.

Here’s my collage.

My father took this photo of my mother and I. Isn’t it lovely?!

My mother made the dress for herself. Doesn’t she look beautiful?

And how about that steaming-hot, roasted turkey? Mmmmmmm! Are you hungry now?

I AM!

Okay! Back to business.

I used Happy Little Stampers Thinking of You, Doodled Flowers and Butterfly Birthday.

Can you find where I used all of the different HLS products?

I so enjoyed making this collage and hope you enjoyed this post.

So?! Are you excited to join in with our Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media challenge?!

Thanks for stopping by!

Grace & Peace,

AAA Cards Game #90 – Embossing

Hi! I’m happy to be here today for AAA Cards Game #90 – Embossing.

Our sponsor for this game:

Picture

$15 gift certificate

We’ll pick a top winner and some runners-up.
It could be you!

I have 2 cards to share with you today.

Here’s card #1: This is the type of Clean and Simple (CAS) card that meets of AAA Cards CAS definition.
Lots of “white space” space (any color) WITHOUT ANY texture or pattern.
I did some stenciling, creative stamping, fussy cutting, heat embossing and dry embossing to make the card.
Here’s card #2. This card is Clean and Simple, BUT it does not meet AAA Cards’ requirements for “white space” because of the all over embossing.

img_5943_edited-1If I had dry embossed only part of the card, maybe the edges of the card or simply the center panel, it would meet the AAA Cards’ CAS defintion.

img_5944_edited-1I made the center panel of this card I used some liquid masking medium through a stencil
and then did some ink blending over the masked flowers.img_5949_edited-1
I did some fussy cutting, attached the panel to the middle of the card front and then stamped the sentiment. img_5947_edited-1
Then, I dry embossed the front of the card. I love this card, BUT it DOES NOT meet AAA’s Clean and Simple requirements.

Here, once again, is my embossed card which meets AAA’s CAS definition.

I hope that you are inspired to play along. Make sure you stop by AAA Cards and visit all of the design team members’ blogs.

Thanks for stopping by!
Grace & Peace,
Melissa

Happy Little Stampers May 2017 Mixed Media Challenge – Splats

Hi! I’m very happy to be here with you today with a card for Happy Little Stampers May Mixed Media Challenge.

Our  challenge:

img_5926_edited-1
img_5928_edited-1     img_5936_edited-1
I used a stamp from Happy Little Stampers’ Doodle Flowers. I also created a small, homemade, fussy cut stencil using the same flower in this set. I used some smooshed Brusho Crystal Colors to create a background paper.

Doodled Flowers

img_5938_edited-1Today’s card is yet another one that the flowers turned out in a way that reminds me of a book from my childhood. The book is entitled Andy Pandy – in the country.

Have you read this before? I’ll bet some of my U.K. friends have. I love it. 🙂 I’d show you some more photos of it, but my copy is in long-term storage in Albuquerque and I’m in Germany now. 😦 You never know what you’ll miss when you put things into storage! I should be getting those things back soon, though. 🙂img_5935_edited-1

Anyhow, I used the negative spaces of some fussy cut flowers which I used of on this card to make a stencil. I stenciled embossing paste through the homemade stencil three times.img_5932_edited-1 After the paste dried, I stamped the flowers on top of the paste. I added some SPLATS of red with a paint brush, some enamel dots and the sentiment strip.img_5929_edited-1 The red splats on this card especially remind me of an illustration of Looby Loo and some red poppies. I’d love to see that page, so if you have a copy and want to email it to me please do!

img_5931_edited-1

So! I hope that you have enjoyed seeing my bright flowery card on what might be a gray day in you part of the world? Are you excited to join in with our Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media challenge?!

Thanks for stopping by!

I have a tag to share with you today.

img_5841_edited-1

To make this tag, I used the ARTplorations stencil Big Bloom Factory LARGE. This stencil/mask measures approximately 8 inches wide by 10 3/16 inches tall.
