2. We will have a mid-month reminder on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.
3. Projects are to based on our monthly theme (with or without the optional twist).
4. We will be featuring CUTplorations tag dies.
Please see the below for more PRIZE details and a COUPON.

Here’s my tag, using Tag O’Coffee.

I also used a Trendy Leaves Die to cut a leaf out of a (partially imperfect) gold embossed bit of stamping I had done for my previous tag for this challenge.

I recently had a birthday and so used some STAMPlorations gift certificates that I received to order the coordinating Trendy Leaves 2 stamp set. I am looking forward to using the stamps and dies together on some projects.

I re-purposed a piece of the first attempt, flubbed up stamped image of  STAMPlorations’ Zen Coffee ATC #1 and ended up with a nice leaf for the in today’s post.

I’m excited to be part of this new challenge and hope that you will join in the fun.

Check out the STAMPplorationsaful PRIZE details and COUPON code below.

Happy Little Stampers Watercolor Challenge – February 2017 – Dies

Hello! I’m very excited to be here with you for our second HLS Watercolor Challenge.

As always at Happy Little Stampers’ challenges……..we have a prize for you!

We would like to extend a huge welcome to our Guest Designer, Ingrid!

Here’s my card:

img_4005_edited-1

I used the emboss-resist technique to create a panel with heart stamps, clear embossing powder and….

Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi 24-Color Painting Set

Then, I did some die-cutting with a heart die and then inlaid some CUTplorations ‘hugs’ word dies. I matted the hearty, huggy heart by attaching it with foam tape to a white square of cardstock. The white embossed hearts make me think of the “Os” in “XOXO”. So this is a “hugs & kisses” hearty card. Don’t you think?

img_4015_edited-1Next, I made another rainbow panel to frame the white panel and attached the entire thing to a white square card base.

I

the finished card with it!

😉 img_4011_edited-1

What do you think? Is this a Cleaned and Layered card? I’d like to play along at The Card Concept #66: Love & Romance.

img_4004_edited-1

Lots of white…… hugs, hearts, the card and a rainbow heart and panel peeking out?! Oooo. I like it!

img_4013_edited-1My teammates and I are excited to begin this new year with a fun new monthly challenge and by the number of you who played along last month, we think that you will enjoy it too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Little Stampers Watercolor Challenge – January 2017 – Stencil

Hello and Happy New Year! Welcome back to a brand new challenge! We are very excited about this challenge and are guessing that you will be too!

I’m very excited to be here with you for our inaugural HLS Watercolor Challenge.

All of our watercolor challenges will be Anything Goes with an optional twist. The only rule is that you use watercoloring or a watercolor technique on your entry. You may enter as many times as you like and you do NOT have to use HLS products to enter.

As always at Happy Little Stampers’ challenges……..we have a prize for you!

We would like to extend a huge welcome to our Guest Designer for this challenge!

Barb – Guest Designer

I have a team effort card, of sorts, to share with you today.

img_4022_edited-1

I made this card by sprinkling multiple colors of Brusho Crystal Color,

in rainbow order, on top of a stencil (the Herringbone stencil from TIM HOLTZ Mini Stencil Set #13 – Herringbone, Countdown, Blocks) placed on a panel of watercolor paper.

Then, I spritzed water on top of the stencil and the crystal colors, let it set for a few seconds, blotted with a paper towel roll and then removed the stencil. The results were very pleasing!

img_4019_edited-1Let me explain a bit about the team part. I learned about Brushos from Kylie last Summer at the HLS retreat where I made this rainbow panel.   I also CASEd Darnell’s technique and panel and borrowed the stencil I used from Kathy. Actually, Darnell also helped me to finish the panel as I was called away for some family business just as I was finishing it. Thanks, ladies!

img_4021_edited-1I added the sentiment using some stamps for STAMPlorations’ Sketchy Alphabet stamp set. First, I stamped the letters in black. Next, I colored them in with Derwent Inktense pencils and then softened the colors with a paintbrush and a bit of water.

img_4020_edited-1

Check out Kylie’s tutorial on the Brushos and stencil technique here.

MMCC October 2015 Challenge #16 – Black & Orange – Reminder

I am very happy to be here today with a reminder post for The Mixed Media Card October Challenge #16 {Black and Orange}.

Click on the photo below to see the other cards I’ve made for this challenge.

IMG_8141edited

Here’s the October Challenge Graphic:

I have to say that orange is not one of my favorite colors, but I did get into it once I got started. Hey! I even liked it enough to make 3 fairly different cards to share with you in this post! I made 6 cards in all for this challenge, so I guess I got over my aversion to orange! If you’d like, you can see the others here and here.

Here’s card #1:

IMG_8078editedI used Penny Black’s Foliage Fancy for all 3 cards in this post. I also heat embossed all of the leaves in black and used a water-color smooshing technique on all of them as well. I’d like to play this first card at Word Art Wednesday’s Challenge #204 Anything Goes.

I used a utility knife and partially cut out the leaves on this first card. I used foam tape to pop up the cut-out parts.

IMG_8081editedCard #2:

IMG_8094editedI’d like to play this card at SSS Monday’s Challenge: Autumn Is In The Air.

IMG_8100edited On this third card I used some Gesso, more water-color smooshing and some Smootch Spritz on the background. After stamping and heat embossing the leaves in black, I also added some Glossy Accents to each of the 3 leaves.

Card #3:

IMG_8086editedI’d like to play this card at Colour Me’s CMCC#92 – Colour Me… Monochromatic!

IMG_8089edited IMG_8084edited I hope that I have inspired you to play along with this month’s challenge. Please stop over to the blog for some inspiration from the rest of the design team and to link up your entry.

HOW TO PLAY
1. Create a mixed media CARD based on the theme, with or without the optional element.
2. Display the challenge graphic on your blog post and link back to this challenge post.
3. You may enter as many times as you want, as long as each entry is different.
4. You may combine a maximum of 7 challenges (6 other challenges plus ours).
