LOVE TAGplorations – Day 1 – February 8, Wednesday

Hi! I’m here for the first day of the LOVE TAGplorations event. The event will last for 7 days, with the final day being Valentine’s Day. The STAMPlorations Girls will be showcasing love-themed or Valentine’s Day tags. You can play along too!

Here’s my tagged card.

I started by stamping the bird from STAMPlorations Trendy Birds 2, carefully inking up the stamp with a variety of colors, onto some white cardstock.

I masked off the bird and branch with some removable sticky label. Next, I sponged yellow and light green ink through the ARTplorations stencil Leaf Prints.

Then, I used the another ARTplorations stencil and added some tinted embossing paste with Retro Circles.

I made a tag using the CUTplorations Luggage Tags Nesting Dies.

I added pink embossing paste to the tag with the Dots All Over ARTplorations Stencil.

After the tag dried, I sponged on some deep pink ink onto the card front and the tag, using the Zen Hearts ARTplorations stencil.

Then, I die cut the “XOXO” sentiment with the CUTplorations XOXO Word Die out of the tag and inlaid another white die cut into the tag.

I rounded all of the corners of my mixed media bird panel, the yellow mat, and the card base. Lastly, I assembled the panels to the card and attached the tag sentiment and a bit of turquoise twine.

Stencil Sunday – January 29 – Memory Verse Cards

Hi! I’m here with a post for today’s STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday.

To make these memory verse cards, I used the ARTplorations stencil Retro Circles and CUTplorations Nesting Luggage Tag Dies and a wide variety of techniques and mediums too.

To make these cards, first I sponged a rainbow of colors onto a full page of white cardstock. img_4117_edited-1

I printed my verses onto the inked-up page. I cut the page so that it would fit through my Big Shot and then die cut the tags/cards.

I added some Glossy Accents, gold glass pen, and sequins to the front card and yellow cardstock to the back.

2nd Giving Thanks Blog Hop & Linky Party

Hi! I’m glad that you are here today for STAMPLorations’ Giving Thanks Blog Hop!

You should have arrived here from the lovely Cornelia Wenokor’s blog. Her card is gorgeous, isn’t it!? I love the bright green “Thankful” and the beautifully embossed and colored basket of apples. I have never used Yupo paper and colored with alcohol inks, but Cornelia’s card makes me want to try it. (Or make an apple pie! 😉 )

As you can see, we’ve got a lot of friends participating in today’s hop. You can participate in this hop multiple ways too. See all the details at the bottom of this post. I had a blast using the Be Thankful bundle! Here’s a quick look at the BUNCH of projects that I have to share with you today:

I heat embossed the apple bushel basket in white. Then I enjoyed water coloring the die cut images differently.

I had a lot of fun creating projects with the Be Thankful bundle.

I love this word die!

I also used the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies for these cards.

Next, I used a gorgeous stencil, Fall Floral Trio, on this card:

I used several masking techniques on this final card. I love the technique of combining masking and ink blending!!! Seriously, I have a callous on my left thumb right now. I think it might be from all of the ink-blending?!

I did some masking by sponging over a “Thankful” die cut to add the sentiment. To make the plaid design, I used Post-it labeling tape. Besides the die cut basket, the card itself is 1-layer.

I made the card base slightly smaller than the standard 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ so that the card, with the basket overhanging the edge, will still fit in a standard envelope.

I also made a tag with the Luggage Tags Nesting Dies.

I made a stencil with the hugs die and sponged red and yellow ink through my homemade stencil.
