P.S. Would you like to know how to make the pumpkin itself? My friend, Ashley, made this one. She works at a local lumber yard and building supply store, S. W. Collins.   S.W. Collins recently sponsored an “Ladies Night” where Ashley and her co-workers provided several crafts and refreshments.  I attended the event (so fun!) and painted a pumpkin that had been cut and glued together. I would like to thank Jason, Ashley and all of the employees at S.W. Collins for their generosity and hospitality.

Please see the attached link below for where Ashley got the original idea.

Here are Ashley’s Instructions:
Materials:

Pine Board: 1X4X6 is the size I used the most.
Wood Glue (I used Titebond Fast setting)  or Hot Glue
Sanding Paper- 220 Grit
A Stick
Paint- The tutorial I saw used spray paint, but any paint suitable for
wood will work!
Ribbon

Instructions:

Measure and cut the wood. I started out with a 3″ piece and did 1″
increments up to 6″ and then back down to 3″. (3″, 4″, 5″, 6″, 5″, 4″,
3″) I played around with these measurements a lot to get various sized
pumpkins. (4″, 5″, 6″, 5″, 4″ was another one I used a lot).

Then sand down the corners and any rough edges of the wood.

Starting with the smallest piece, glue each of the cut pieces of wood
together. Allow to dry for a minimum of 30 minutes before you do
anything more to the pumpkin.

Once the pumpkin is dry, you can paint it!

After the paint dries then secure the stick to the top for the stem and
tie it off with a ribbon!

  1. First, I created the rainbow panel with Brushos and the Chevron Crazy stencil on watercolor paper.
  2. After the panel dried, I added white embossing paste through the same stencil.img_5356_edited-1
  3. I matted the rainbow chevron panel with blue and white cardstock.
  4. I sponged blue ink through the same stencil again, around the edge of the entire matted panel.img_5346_edited-15. I designed the little calendar as a word document and printed it onto white cardstock.  I die cut the calendar with the smallest of the CUTplorations Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies.

img_5357_edited-16. I decorated the calendar by sponging a variety of inks through the Chevron Crazy stencil once again.

7. I inked the edges of the calendar by swiping it across a turquoise ink pad and then attached it with foam tape.

STAMPlorations – Holiday TAGplorations – Day 1

Hi! I’m excited to be here for  STAMPlorations for the first day of our Holiday TAGplorations event.

Get ready for our 1st Holiday TAGplorations event!

I have a bunch of tags to share with you today. img_3136_edited-1

I used the CUTplorations Luggage Tags Nesting Dies to make all of my tags. I also used lots of different ARTplorations stencils on these tags. Please see the bottom of the post.

preview-stamplorations-luggagetags

First, I’ll give you a closer look at the 5 Thanksgiving tags that I made.

img_3119edited_edited-2

img_3156_edited-1

Printed with inked up real leaves

img_3139_edited-1

I used Brusho Crystal Colors, heat embossing and ink-blending on the tag above.

  img_3149edited

This next tag has a smooshed background as the tag base (variety of coral colored inks with red Stickles mixed in). I also stamped in red with the real leaves (attached) on the base tag, die cut another tag from a disposable coffee cup and added the inked up leaves to the fussy cut mug. img_3165_edited-1

I love the honeycomb stencil that I used on this next tag.

img_3097_edited-1

As you can see, I designed, and then printed, my own digital sentiments on vellum. I included a PDF of the sentiments for you to use. Please click here or on the image below to be taken to the printable version.
