Winter Birthday with Love

Hi! I’m here with a quick post of a 1-layer, ombré, Winter birthday card.slide001slide002slide001

I sponged on the woodgrain with a variety of blues and purples. I masked off half the card and sponged a medium blue onto the left side.

I stamped the dark purple tree in the foreground and then masked it off.

Then I stamped the bright blue tree and the dark blue tree.

I added the sentiment, the shadowy snow, the swing, and the heart.

slide002That’s about all I have for this post. 🙂 Please check out below for some other news and a coupon. Also, I’d be very happy if you’d like to……

Happy Birthday Sandie!

Hi! Today I’m here to wish Sandie from London Days a very Happy Birthday this week!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SANDIE!

I’m linking up with Kylie is Addicted to Stamps and Time Out who are both hosting a birthday link up for Sandie.

Here’s the card I made for Sandie:

Seeing her love for purple, I thought I’d use one of my own photos, printed on card stock, for Sandie’s card. This is a photo I took outside my kitchen door in Belgium 3 years ago. The lavender was beautiful, fragrant and an absolute hedge! The Bumble Bees and Honey Bees adored it.IMG_7859edited

I used an intricate die cut from PTI to emboss the frame. First I used the die to cut out the cs and then I used the die cut paper itself as an embossing folder of sorts. Have you ever done that? It’s super fun! 🙂IMG_7562edited

I mounted the image on the back of the frame and popped it up with foam tape to add some dimension. The “Happy Birthday” sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers – Fun Birthday Sentiments.

Sandie, I hope you have a lovely birthday week and feel loved from across the miles. I pray that God will bless you richly with abundant JOY in the year to come!

Thanks for stopping by!

Pink Elephant in the air

Hi! I’m here with a fun card inspired by CASology: Week 193: PINK.

It started out rainy here today, so I took a few photos under the cover of a patio.Slide001

This little lady (knit by my mother) decided to join in the photo shoot.Slide004

I made a sticker using this cute digital image, Elephant Giving Love from A Day for Daisies.

Elephant Giving Love

I CASED one of my own cards. Here’s the “brother” card.

Later in the day the sun peeked out.

So, here’s a shot from my traditional location. I love (with the exception of my horrible hay fever) this time of year in Germany!Slide005I’d like to play along at Seize the Birthday: Anything Goes and Word Art Wednesday’s: Weeks #226-227: Anything Goes.

How I made this card:

1. Printed the image on some white Avery Removable Multipurpose Label.
2. Fussy cut elephant.
3. Sponged 3 different shades of pink inks on the elephant to make it ombré.
4. While sponging a bit too vigorously, accidentally tore off the elephant’s tail! 😦
5. Stamped the checked pattern in a dark pink.
6. Stamped balloon & drew string on the card front.
7. Fussy cut balloon and string. (After drawing the string on a different card front and messing that up to!  My pen exploded. :/ )

Slide006

8. Lost the bit of the tail when I was cleaning up a little, arranged elephant and balloon, drew the poor thing’s tail back on, drew bow on tail, affixed all to card front.
9. Stamped sentiment.

I’d like to play this over at Virginia’s View Challenge with amiss you”, “hello”…any types of friendship card. Woohoo! Good to be able to play at VV again. 🙂

Hello & Happy Birthday

Today I have 2 cards to share with you. They were inspired by CAS(E) This Sketch #151 by Chrissy Larson:

I made 2 different cards with a new to me stamp set. It was a gift from my friend and stamping mentor. My husband brought the happy mail to me while I was staying with my daughter in to the hospital. I finally made some time to play with the set. Thank you, Cindy!
