Wishing You Joy

Slide3

I’m very happy to here with you to share a “just for fun” Clean and Simple Christmas card.

This card was inspired by a bunch of great challenges that are currently going on. (see below)I used some much loved Papertrey Ink products. I would like to take this opportunity to wish Nicole Heady much joy as she moves on from Papertrey Ink.

The card was also inspired by the fact that

WE ARE GOING TO GET SNOW

in Maine TODAY!

Yes. YES! The Lane family is excited. The fact that we’ve lived on multiple continents, various countries, all over the U.S.A. and not really having had a lot of snow for the past 15 years has generated great enthusiasm in my children at the snowy forecast here.

Here’s look at our house, lit up and awaiting the first snow. I hope to have some lovely snowy photos to share tomorrow. (My husband and I moved away during the summer of 1995 and we may be just as excited as our children.)

In the meantime, here’s a peek at my new (still in the works) craft space.

I hope that you enjoyed your visit and will come back soon.  Click HERE to follow my honeybeelane board on Pinterest.

I have a scheduled post for AAA Cards that will be up tomorrow. Here’s a peek at that.

Thanks for stopping by!

Rejoicing Posy

Hi. I worked on this card yesterday to distract myself from a bad outbreak of hives, but just could not make myself blog about it. I’m trying to post something every day for the The Daily Marker’s challenge, but I had to go to bed and try to get some rest.

So, here I am with a card for today.slide01 Just as applicable for today. slide01This day, this allergy triggered, hive-covered-body, getting-ready-for-another-international-move-day IS the day that the Lord has made. slide03

I WILL rejoice and be glad in it! If you are a person prayer, I would greatly appreciate your supplications on my behalf.

   slide04

As you can see, I did some coloring on Kraft cardstock.

slide02  Some fussy cutting and a little stamping and I finished my card.slide02Thanks for stopping by!

Stitched Hearts

I’m here with a fun and bright card inspired by Make It Monday #255: String Art Using Die-Cuts with Amy Sheffer.

IMG_0050edited

First, I made a stencil using the hearts cover plate die. Then I sponged a rainbow through the stencil.

Then I die cut the sponged panel using the Center Style: Feminine Die and set that aside.

Papertrey Ink - Center Style: Feminine DieI attached the outside “frame” part of the sponged heart panel to a white card base. IMG_9183editedThen, to give the card a clean and finished look, I a die cut a panel of white cardstock using the heart cover plate die and added it to the top of the frame and card base. IMG_9187editedIMG_0058edited

Next I went back to the enter piece and stitched white cord into the Center Style: Feminine Die cut, securing with a bit of tape on the back. Then I attached the stitched center panel to the card front using foam tape.

I die cut the sentiment and then used my Zig markers to ink it up, brushed with water to blend the colors and allowed to dry. IMG_0060editedI thought the colors were a bit too vibrant so I toned them down but squashing the word die cut onto my Craft ink pad and blending the white ink with my finger. Lastly traced the sentiment with a white gel pen.  IMG_0053edited

Reverse Stenciling Hearts x 2

Hi! I’m here with 2 reverse stenciled cards inspired by Betsy Veldman’s Make It Monday #233: Reverse Stenciling.

Here’s the first card:

IMG_9714edited

First, I made my own stencil using PTI’s Heart Cover Plate Die. Then I sponged ink onto and through the stencil. I spritzed water onto the stencil and then sandwiched it between two pieces of paper, ink side down, and rubbed the top piece of paper with my hand.

Next, I used the same technique, but this time I applied watercolor paints onto the stencil.
