I’m very happy to be back with you for this month’s HLS Watercolor challenge.

This is a sad post for me, as I will be stepping down from Happy Little Stampers after this month. I am so thankful to my teammates and especially Kylie for their friendship and support over the past 2 1/2 years. Ladies, I count myself blessed to be able to call you friends.

Here’s my card using Doodled Flowers.

I used Kylie’s fun flowers as snowflakes.

I heat embossed the flowers and then added blue Brusho crystal color.

I used a bit of die cutting, heat embossing and, of course, watercoloring, to create this birthday card and the tag.

Happy Birthday TIME OUT Challenges!

Hi! I’m here with a special post for Happy Little Stampers to celebrate Time Out Challenges’ birthday!

I used the “spotlight” technique. Maybe I should say “spotlights?”

I had fun creating my own background stamp using HLS’ Butterfly Birthday, Mix Mash and Doodled Flowers. I adhered a bunch of stamps to my stamp press all at once, inked the stamps up with a dark brown ink and then stamped multiple panels.

I colored one panel with alcohol markers and then die cut several circles.I attached the spotlights to the uncolored panel. I added a dark blue mat and a Kraft card base.

Happy Little Stampers December 2016 Mixed Media Challenge – Anything Goes

Hi! I’m very happy to be here with you today with a card for Happy Little Stampers December Mixed Media Challenge.

Here’s my Christmas card.

I wanted to create a vintage looking card, reminiscent of my childhood memories of my parents’ Christmas trees. I used stamps from Happy Little Stampers’ Mix Mash.

I started this card by creating by stamping the chevrons in green to create a Christmas Tree and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I added a Brusho Crystal Color background. img_3634edited

I used the spray starch and cling wrap/plastic kitchen wrap technique. (Kylie Purtell has several videos showing how to use this technique.)

The stamped and embossed “tree” resisted the Brushos nicely.

Next, I stamped with the circles from Mix Mash to add some ornaments and heat embossed those in silver, turquoise, and red.

Then, to add some shine, I outlined the ornaments with a silver gel pen and added some “strings”too. I finished the pretty balls by dropping on Glossy Accents to add some dimension.

As you can see, I designed, and then printed, my own digital sentiments on vellum. I included a PDF of the sentiments for you to use. Please click here or on the image below to be taken to the printable version.

I added the sentiment, along with some glitter paper, to the top of the card to finish it off.
