Sunset – Beautiful Negativity

Hi! I’m happy to be able to share 2 cards with you today.

My cards were inspired by City Crafter Challenge Blog Week 299 ~ Negativity.

Oooooo! I love this!

Here are my takes on this beautiful piece of art. I’m nothing if not literal. 😉

Card 1: Slide002I was also inspired by all of the DT’s bird cards at CASology: Week 185: Egg.

I used an ARTplorations stencil:

Summery Yellow & Gray

Hi! I’m here with a set of card inspired by The Card Concept’s Challenge #38: A Color Challenge.

I made 4 different cards using an ARTplorations Stencil, Shower of Flutters. I’m going to play this first, “Clean and Layered”  card over at The Card Concept and SSS’s Monday Challenge: Summer. Summer reminds me of flowers, butterflies and sunshine.IMG_6981edited

I started with a full sheet of heavy weight cs, Classic Crest Cover Solar White 110lb, 8-1/2

The flowers are the top of a Stamplorations digi image that I won a few months ago.  IMG_6987edited

For the above card I also used the stamp set that coordinates with this stencil, Trendy Butterflies. I’m going to play this over at STAMPLORATIONS: Anything Goes Challenge.

I used a Stampin’ Up Flower stamp from the Mixed Bunch stamp set for this next card. I’m going to play this card over at SSS’s Monday: Anything Goes and WAW’s: Anything Goes #189 too. 🙂

IMG_6993edited Finally, I used 2 stamps from PTI’s You’ve Been Framed: Oval Mini Stamp Set for this last card.

Peace, Love & Joy Rainbow Butterfly Stencil

Today I have an exciting announcement to make! I’m one of the newest mixed media card artists at The Mixed Media Card Challenge.  I’ll be joining the mixed media card challenge design team beginning in July. To celebrate the announcement today I made a bunch of butterfly cards today. I had a lot of fun making all sorts of different ones!

Here is a Freestyle Collage version:

Slide2

For this card I used a Shower of Flutters – ARTplorations Stencil along with the corresponding stamp from Stamplorations. First, I sponged on a rainbow using Stampin’ Up inks. I love rainbows! What way did you memorize the 7 colors of the rainbow? Did you use an acronym like Roy G. Biv? Or maybe a mnemonic like Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain? Rainbows are beautiful and remind me of God’s mercy, kindness and grace. I have to force myself NOT to color every card with the 7 colors of the rainbow.

Next I stamped with VersaMark. I used the back side of the Stamplorations butterfly stamps and then heat embossed in silver.  Then I spritzed on some Smooch Spritz. I’m going to play this at The Card Concept #37-The Butterfly Effect, SSS’s Monday Challenge: Stamp + Mist and AEI♥U Challenge #25 – Rainbow!  The sentiment is from Avery Elle’s Noel Stamp set.

Here is a Clean & Graphic one:

IMG_6479edited I used a free/prize digi stamp from Stamplorations which I printed on SU! vellum. In the photo below the image is printed on watercolor paper. I’m going to play this at The Card Concept #37-The Butterfly Effect and AEI♥U Challenge #25 – Rainbow!
