Inspired by May Park

Today I’m excited to share a shaker card with you.

IMG_1566I have been having a lot of fun making shaker cards recently!
I have also recently been admiring the work of May Park and came across this card of hers this morning. DSC_5397Isn’t it beautiful?

Here is one more of May’s lovely creations.

Back to my card……

I sponged the background with pink for the flower and green for the stem. On another piece of card stock, I then sponged a yellow center, drew in some details with a black marker and punched out the flower’s middle. Next I added 2 layers of foam tape to create two separate shaker sections. Then I added green beads to the stem and pink beads and flower sequins to the flower section.

IMG_1546The leaves, I stamped, fussy cut and popped up with foam. They are from PTI’s Pretty Petals stamp set. I added some vellum SU punched butterflies to the sentiment strip. The sentiment is from PTI’s A Cheerful Heart Stamp Set, which I absolutely love.

I’m going to play this over at Less is More’s Week 212 Wings Challenge, at the Butterfly Challenge’s #24 Butterflies + R is for Ribbon and at SSS’s Monday Challenge: No Rules.

Thanks for stopping by!

Lovely layers

Today I have a multi-layer card to share with you.

IMG_1564My card was inspired by Melissa Phillips’ card for this week’s MIM #202.

Here is Melissa’s lovely creation.

Here’s a closer look at my card.

I used PTI’s Heart Cover Plate die in several ways for this card. I made a stencil and sponged the background and then used part of the stencil down the center of the card. I used some of the die cut hearts. Also, I used the cover plate to create a border die cut with a faux eyelet ribbon edge.

I used PTI’s Super Stripes stamp set to make another faux ribbon for the sentiment strip.

I’m going to play this over at Make It Monday’s #202: Anchoring With Border and Banner Dies Challenge and over at the Butterfly Challenge and at SSS’s Monday Challenge: No Rules.
