Dots All Over and Flourishes.img_3597_edited-1

The calendar measures approximately 5 3/4″ x 8 3/4″ or 14.5 x 22.25 cm matted.

  1. First I heat embossed the flourishes in silver.
  2. I sponged on red ink over the silver embossing.img_3583_edited-1img_3598_edited-1
  3. Next, I stenciled red embossing paste through the Dots All Over stencil onto silver foil cardstock..
  4. I matted the red and silver flourishes panel with white linen cardstock.img_3583_edited-1

img_3587_edited-15. I designed the little calendar as a word document and printed it onto white cardstock. It measures about 4″ x 2 1/4″ or 4 cm x 5.75 cm.img_3586_edited-1

6. I decorated the calendar by sponged red ink through the Dots All Over stencil, added some silver gel pen accents and inked the edges of the calendar by swiping it across a red ink pad and then attached it with foam tape.

7. I matted the entire project with linen cardstock stenciled with the flourishes stencil in red.img_3594_edited-1

I had a lot of fun creating this calendar page and I hope that you have been inspired to create your own mixed media projects! I’d be very glad to have you join us for the mixed media challenge this month. I’m so excited to be here with you and I can’t wait to see what you make!

Some Birds and Leaf Prints.IMG_9995edited

I used my Gelli Plate to print the back ground for this mini calendar.

The calendar measures approximately 5 3/4″ x 8 3/4″ or 14.5 x 22.25 cm matted.

IMG_9990edited

  1. First I masked off the un-inked Gelli, by setting the Some Birds stencil on top and then I placed the small positive birds into the negative spaces.
  2. I removed the stencil and the small bird stayed behind on the Gelli Plate.
  3. Next I carefully brayered on blue, purple and fuchsia acrylic paints on the Gelli Plate and over the little bird masks.
  4. I carefully and quickly removed the little birds and printed onto mixed media paper. The bird shaped white spaces were left behind.

5. I sponged black ink through the Leaf Print stencil.

6. Then I stenciled on gold texture paste.

7. I designed the little calendar as a word document and printed it onto white cardstock. It measures about 4″ x 2 1/4″ or 4 cm x 5.75 cm.

8. I inked the edges of the calendar by swiping it across a gold ink pad and attached it with foam tape.

9. I matted the project in black cardstock and mounted it on some gold foil cardstock.

The calendar measures approximately 5 3/4″ x 8 3/4″ or 14.5 x 22.25 cm matted.

I inked up the backside of the Happy Flowers stencil in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then printed on mixed media paper. I put the stencil ink side down and then covered it with printer/copy paper and rubbed firmly, but carefully to transfer the ink.

IMG_9988september

Then I stenciled the Happy Flowers through the front side of the stencil with red and green ink. Next I stenciled on Some Birds in black.

IMG_9644september

I made the background frame with the Chevron Crazy stencil and Some Birds.

I designed the little calendar as a word document and printed it onto white cardstock. It measures about 4″ x 2 1/4″ or 4 cm x 5.75 cm. I inked the edges of the calendar by swiping it across a black ink pad and attached it with foam tape.  I matted the project in white cardstock and mounted it on my chevron panel.

The calendar measures approximately 5 3/4″ x 8 3/4″ or 14.5 x 22.25 cm matted.IMG_9776augustcalendar

I repeatedly sponged a variety of blue-hued butterflies onto my panel of cardstock with the Shower of Flutters mask/stencil.

See them fluttering around in the background? 🙂IMG_9629augustcalendar

Then I stenciled the Happy Flowers with red and green ink, sponged embossing ink over the flowers and heat embossed the them with clear embossing powder. IMG_9782augustcalendar

I matted the panel with black cardstock and then, using the ARTplorations Retro Circles stencil,  I sponged on white pigment ink and embossed with white embossing powder.

IMG_9638augustcalendar

I designed the little calendar as a word document and printed it onto white cardstock. It measures about 4″ x 2 1/4″ or 4 cm x 5.75 cm.

I inked the edges of the calendar by swiping it across a black ink pad and attached it with foam tape. Lastly I matted the entire project in white cardstock.

AAA Cards Challenge #69 – Stash Favorite

I’m happy to be here today for AAA Cards Game #69 – Stash Favorite.

Thank you to our sponsor:
Stampendous

This week we have a special guest designer joining us, Ksenija of Sweet Kobylkin.

Welcome, Ksenija, we are so happy to have you with us!

🙂

STENCILS!

I love ink-blending and using stencils. Besides butterfly stamps and dies, stencils are definitely a stash favorite of mine!

The particular stencil which I used for the card featured in this post is definitely a favorite from my stash.

preview-web-stencil-027-happyflowers.jpeg

I’ve used it in many different ways, from CAS cards to Mixed Media mini calendar pages. I haven’t tired of using it. It is truly does make me ‘happy’ when I get to use it!

Here’s a card I made using the Happy Flowers ARTplorations Stencil:

IMG_7919edited

As I made this card, it was rainy and the wind was blowing. I was feeling a bit blue – my husband was away for the week.

The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink’s Choose Joy Stamp Set.

Choose Joy Stamp Set

I made this card using muted colors as opposed to the usually vibrant palette I’m accustomed to using.

I stenciled with a pink ink for the blossoms and green for the stems. Next I moved the stencil, slightly to the left side of the original image and repeated the stenciling. This time I stenciled with yellow ink through the entire image. The slightly off center stenciling makes the flowers appear as if they are blowing in the breeze.

IMG_7926edited

I hope that you are inspired to play along. Make sure you stop by AAA Cards and visit all of the design team members blogs.

Here are 3 galleries of some of my other stenciled projects from the past year.

All photos below are

>CLICKABLE<

If you’d like to know more about a particular card, please click on it. A new tab will open for you and you’ll be taken to the original post for that card. 🙂

Here, I have Gallery 1: Clean and Simple – CAS, like what we’d like to see you entering into our challenge at AAA Cards this week. IMG_6622edited

IMG_6627edited

IMG_7736edited

IMG_5818editedIMG_7735edited

So, I’d consider the first 4 cards to be quite CAS. (Five if you were to include today’s post’s card.) What do you think?

Now on to the cards in Gallery #2 – those which I would consider borderline CAS and Mixed Media CAS.

Like I said, besides butterfly stamps, stencils are definitely a stash favorite!
