AAA Cards Game #91 – 3rd Birthday Blog Hop

Hi! I’m happy to be here today with a post for AAA Cards’ big blog hop and Game #91 – 3rd Birthday.

We have a treasure hunt going on! The idea is that each of the design team members and guest designers have placed a given number somewhere within our individual birthday blog posts. The players (you) will need to find all six DT numbers, total them up and then email your answer to aaacardchallenge@gmail.com.

We’ve got lots of great sponsors for our celebration.

AAA Cards is a bi-weekly challenge blog for Clean and Simple (CAS) Cards. Unless otherwise stated in the blog post for a particular challenge only players who submit cards will be eligible to be a winner.

Here’s my card using Happy Little Stampers Mix Mash. I stamped in embossing ink, heat embossed in white and colored with watercolor pencils.

I made six of these cards, in a variety of colors.

My question:

There are lots of different perspectives on CAS (Clean and Simple) cards and what “white space” means. AAA Cards has our own very specific definition! 🙂  For a prize package of the ARTplorations “Some Birds” and the Happy Little Stampers’ Big Bold Numbers stamp set, please can you
tell me what AAA Cards’ definition of “White Space” is?

I hope that you are inspired to play along.

Here’s the order of the blog hop:

Make sure you stop by AAA Cards and visit all of the design team members’ blogs.

Thanks for stopping by!
Grace & Peace,
Melissa

  1. amazing design, so clever, I love it!
The definition of ‘White Space’ on the AAA challenge blog – ‘White’ space means an area of your card with nothing on it at all. It doesn’t have to be ‘white’. It could be brown or pink or red, but NOT patterned, embossed or textured. Any colour as long as there is EMPTY SPACE.

  2. Happy belated wedding anniversary Melissa, that is such a lovely song to dedicate to your husband, I listened to it while writing this and my eyes went a little blurry…
Back to your card, love all the colour variations of your circles which just pops on the black card, which is also considered as “white space” in AAA’s definition, which could be any colour, as long as there is nothing else on it.

  3. Really great cards – I love how the colours pop against the dark background. AAA challenge blog defines ‘white space’ as empty space, regardless of colour. Just a plain, unadorned area. A great way to make the focal part of the card pop by not having the card be too busy 🙂
This was a great question – a good way to remind us all of the rules 😉

  4. Your cards are so fun — love the variation of the theme! “White” space doesn’t have to be “white”, but just a very simple design with lots of space around it 🙂

  5. Fabulous set of cards and the embossed colours look super against the black background which is a great example of your definition. White space is an area of card of any colour with ‘nothing’ on it at all xx

  6. Love your cards, especially the blue and green ones. They look very striking. Here is the definition of ‘White Space’ as per the AAA challenge blog – ‘White’ space means an area of your card with nothing on it at all. It doesn’t have to be ‘white’. It could be brown or pink or red, but NOT patterned, embossed or textured. Any colour as long as there is EMPTY SPACE.
