Happy Little Stampers Watercolor Challenge – March 2017 – Watercolor- Smoosh

Welcome back to Happy Little Stampers’ Watercolor Challenge. We are very excited about this challenge and are guessing by the number of you who joined us last month that you are too!

This month’s challenge:

As always at Happy Little Stampers’ challenges……..we have a prize for you!

We would like to welcome our Guest Designer, Linda, for this challenge!

Here’s my card using Mix Mash, HLS Doodled Flowers and Butterfly Birthday. img_6196_edited-1

To start, I “smooshed” some blue and green paint onto the card front with my stamp press.

Then I created a “background stamp” of sorts by adhering lots of stamps fromMix Mash, Doodled Flowers and Butterfly Birthday onto my stamp press all at once.

I love this stamp press! So much so, that I have 2.

I have to give a shout out to Fiskars. I had an issue with one of the presses (some of the hardware, little rubber O-rings, got stretched out and went missing) and after telling them about it via their website they sent me a new one! I did not have to return the one with the problem.

Using my “background stamp” I stamped the butterfly and flower images all at the same time, making 4 cards for a private challenge while I was at it. These cards remind me of The Secret Garden, the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Image result for the secret garden black and white images With loving, tender care the children in the book, with the help of an elderly gardener, discover the joy of caring for a neglected garden. They see life flourish in the garden, and in themselves, as they spend time there nurturing it.

My family and I enjoy listening to an A udio Drama version of the book. Here’s a link in case you’d like to check it out.

After smooshing and stamping, I added the fussy cut flower, the sentiment, and some white gel pen accents.

All of our Happy Little Stampers’ Watercolor Challenges are Anything Goes with an optional twist. The only rule is that you use water coloring or a watercolor technique on your entry. You may enter as many times as you like and you do NOT have to use HLS products to enter.

AAA Cards Game #84 – Watercolor

Here’s my card: I used a stamp set from Uniko, Background Builders: Squared. I used the emboss-resist technique. I did some heat embossing (one of my favorite techniques, using one of favorite tools) and then watercolored in some different blue, greens and purples. I did some additional masking and added an ombré line of color along either side of the squares.I stamped the sentiment and then attached the panel to a blue card base.

Double Hearty Butterfly

LOVE TAGplorations – Day 7 – February 14, Monday

Hi! I’m here for the 7th and final day of the LOVE TAGplorations event.

I have a pink peek-a-boo mixed media heart tag to share with you today.

I cut a tag using the CUTplorations Luggage Tags Nesting Dies. preview-stamplorations-luggagetags

I used the Hearts All Over – ARTplorations Stencil to add pink embossing paste to the larger, base tag.

I also added pink embossing paste to the small pink tag with the Dots All Over ARTplorations Stencil.

I die cut the XOXO sentiment using the CUTplorations XOXO Word Die.

I finished by adhering the tags together, attaching the top tag with a turquoise brad, and adding some turquoise twine.I had a lot of fun making this tag! Make sure you stop by and check out the STAMPlorations Girls’ superb creations!

XOXO Butterfly with Hearts

Hi! I’m here with a quick post.

This card showcases many of my favorite tools, things and techniques.I used the color red, ink-blending, hearts, butterflies, ‘XOXO’, camouflaged die cutting, and white space all together on 1 card! Ahhhhh!

First I did some ink-blending on white cardstock. I used a Papertrey Ink Heart Cover to die cut the ink-blended hearts.Then, I adhered a pattern of hearts to the white cardstock. I die cut the Happy Little Stampers Butterfly from the center of the heart pattern.
