The Mixed Media Card Challenge #28 – October – Black and Purple

Challenge Badge

Hi! I’m here with a card for The Mixed Media Card Challenge for October:

Here’s my card inspired by the hymn “His Eye is on the Sparrow”

Slide002I watercolored with a variety of purples onto a watercolor paper background and then stenciled on chevrons with the ARTplorations Stencil Chevron Crazy.

I stamped with STAMPlorations Trendy Birds 2 onto some lavender cardstock, sponged on some dark purple and fussy cut the birds out.

I dry embossed the panel and then added some glitter embossing paste with the ARTplorations Stencil Retro Circles.

Lastly I attached the panel to a white frame, the lavender card base and attached the sentiment.

I made 4 of these cards for a private challenge that I’m part of. The theme for the challenge was “Reflections”.

Slide001I had a lot of fun making these cards! Make sure you stop by The MMCC blog and check out my teammates superb creations!

Thanks for stopping by!

Melissa

The Fall 2016 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop – One Last Cup

clbhfall2016edited

Hi! I’m very happy to have you visiting my blog today. I know your time is precious and hope that you enjoy your visit.

Today I have one last card to share with you that I designed with STAMPlorations products for the Fall CLBH.

I missed the link-up deadline by a few minutes, so you won’t see this one in the gallery at the CLBH, but I thought that I’d share it anyway.

STAMPlorations is one of the FAll CLBH sponsors and Shery has a bunch Coffee & Tea lover themed products in her store. I’d like to play this over at the The Male Room’s Leaves and or Trees challenge.

I love this new STAMPlorations set – Anywhere There’s Coffee Stamps & Die Set by Shery.

Besides the stamps from Anywhere There’s Coffee Stamps & Die Set,  I also used the ARTplorations stencil Flourishes

as an embossing folder and as a stencil. I also reverse stencil/printed in blue ink with the Flourish stencil and sponged orange ink through it.

img_2281edited_edited-1  I really enjoyed making this card and I hope that you enjoyed seeing it.

Here’s a gallery of all of the other cards that I made for the Fall CLBH. I sure had fun making these!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I really appreciate your visit.

Grace & Peace,
Melissa

Happy Little Stampers October CASE the Designer – Birgit

Hi! Thanks for spending some of your valuable time visiting me here. 🙂

I’m happy to be with you today for Happy Little Stampers’ CASE the Designer Challenge for October.

I’ve been CASEing my sweet friend Birgit of “Crafting While I Wait.”

My Photo

This challenge is sponsored by:

Here’s Birgit’s lovely card:

Soooo pretty! I was inspired by Birgit’s layout, elements and the overall sweet design.

Here’s the card I came up with, using Happy Little Stampers Doodle Flowers and Thinking of You stamp sets.

img_1864_edited-1

How I made this card:

  1. First, I created my background panel with Brushos Crystals (spritzing with some water to activate). img_1890_edited-12. Then I stamped the entire panel with the large block script sentiment from Thinking of You. img_1865_edited-1

3. I randomly added some flowers and leaves from Doodled Flowers.

4. I die cut the panel.

5. Then I added white gel pen to the flower centers. img_1867_edited-1

6. Then I stamped the largest flower from Doodled Flowers in embossing ink onto a white panel of cardstock from my stash. (I had previously sponged some overlapping red, orange and yellow circles onto the white paper and liked the combination of colors.)

7. I heat embossed the flower with red and yellow embossing powder.

img_1864_edited-28. Then I colored in the flower with alcohol markers.

9. I die cut the panel and reassembled the die cuts, turning some of them 180° to produce a balanced color pattern. img_1890_edited-210. I added foam tape to every other die cut and adhered the rest with adhesive.

img_1865_edited-1 11. Next I adhered the panel to the base.

12. I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto black card stock (fussy cut) and added the sentiment. (Doodled Flowers)img_1891_edited-1

I loved CASEing Birgit’s card and I hope that you’ve been inspired to play along.
Please stop over at the challenge blog to see the super CASEs by my teammates on the HLS CASE the Designer Design Team.

Thanks for stopping by!
Grace & Peace
