Washi Butterfly in B&W Garden

Hi! I’m here with a quick post with a card for several different super fun and inspiring challenges!IMG_6215editedI would like to play this at  CASology’s: Washi, FUSION: Orchid Occasions, for the sketch ,  Simon Says Stamps Monday’s Anything Goes, CAS on Sunday #80:Flowers and Word Art Wednesday’s Weeks #224-#225: Anything Goes.IMG_6223editedThanks for stopping by!
Grace & Peace,
Melissa

P.S. Some of you have expressed interest in the little house in background of my photographs. I photograph my cards outside most of the time. The little house is real.:) It was originally a wine hut (moved from a vineyard in the 1950’s by my landlord’s parents). We currently use it to store garden tools. It received some refurbishing and paint 2 years ago.

Here is a picture of the hut:

Here are a couple of photos of what the hut might have looked like when it was in a vineyard.

  1. I saw your card in the Word Art Wednesday challenge. It really stood out in the links. I just had to come and take a closer look. This is gorgeous. I love how the color with the butterfly contrasts to the black and white flowers. I’m glad you shared it. Have a blessed day today.

    • Thanks, Maria! We live in Baden-Württemberg, northeast of Stuttgart. Is that considered part of the wine region? 🙂 I’m totally ignorant. I see grape vines everywhere, but I think it is only dry wine they make here? I like sweet white. You’d think I’d know now since this is the 2nd time my family and I have lived in Germany and we’re working on our 5th year (total) in Germany. Too much moving and trying to pack and unpack has me a bit distracted!

  2. This is gorgeous, Melissa! That rainbow washi makes me so happy and I love the negative die cut and uncolored flowers. Really really awesome! Thanks for playing along with CASology this week!

  3. WOW! I love this idea, the colorful rows of washi, the die cut butterfly, the black and white flowers behind…so clever and what a great card! (I’m also fascinated by the cottage in the background of your card…I’d love to see pics! ) Thanks for playing along at CASology with this beauty!

  4. Beautiful card, Love how you have used the washi tape here. Love the layout, looks wonderful with the black and white behind.
I have to say I am so enjoying this challenge as I am seeing so many ways I can use that washi tape that just decorates a bowl at this time.
