HLS September 2015 Sketch Challenge

    I’m happy to be sharing a card with you today as a member of the HLS Sketch Design Team.

Here is September’s Sketch:

Wow! Don’t you just love this one? I do!!

My card: I used PTI’s Peony Cover Plate Die to make this card. I’m really enjoying this cover plate die. Peonies and their sweet fragrance remind me of my my mother. I love you and miss you, Mum.

I sponged 2 backgrounds, 1 yellow and 1 red, for the flower in SU’s Real Red and Tim Holtz Squeezed Lemonade. Then I cut out 4 of the Peonies, in the sponged red and yellow and also in green and blue card-stock.

I put the sentiment on the inside of this card. I used a stamp from PTI’s Cheerful Heart Stamp set.

Plaid – 3 color families

Hello! Thanks for visiting. I’m here with a card inspired by CASology’s Week 161 challenge: Plaid. I missed the deadline for CASology though!

First I sponged 3 basic colors, yellow, green and purple. Then I used stamps from PTI’s Plaid Builder and Background Basics: Super Stripes Stamp Set. The “XOXO” sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers’ Bold Birthday Sentiments.I think that this sentiment will be a “go to” sentiment for me!

Next I used a Spellbinders square die to cut out 3 squares.

I would like to play this card at SSS’s Monday Challenge: A Trio of Colors.

I used a new embossing folder, fittingly named “Argyle Textured Impressions”. I really really like this embossing folder!

Updated Wed Sept 2: I had a lot of fun making these cards. I was surprised to find a photo of my cards was included in PTI’s Red Carpet slide show. You can see them at 1 min 11 seconds into the slide show. 🙂 What a nice surprise. Congratulations to all the winners! I look forward to playing along next year.

SAF 2015: Accessories Challenge

Hi! I’m here with a cute little necklace that I made for SAF’s 2015: Accessories Challenge.

I used PTI’s Heart Cover Plate Die to cut out the little white hearts. I was going to make a more grown-up necklace, but after I put the heart button (from the Wee Folk Kit) on top all I could see was a little pig!
