Frogs

Today I have some fun frog cards to share with you.

I’m going to play this first card CASology’s Week 159: Aquatic Challenge this week. I’m also going to play this over at SSS Monday’s Homegrown Summer. Maybe it’s a strange “leap”, but frogs remind me of home, growth and summer. Growing up in Maine, I spent a lot of time catching frogs with my brother during the summer months. We also gathered frog eggs in the Spring and would watch as they turned into tadpoles.

I used some of my home made bubble bg paper for this card. You can read more about it here.

I made another frog card too……this one is a bit less CAS. I’m going to play this over at The Male Room’s Challenge #16 – Theme – Vacation/On the Beach.

The sentiment stamp is from PTI’s Swoosh Sentiment stamp set. I can’t tell you who made the frog because I was given a bunch of different ones by my friend, Cindy. They were not in the original package, but they sure are cute! I stamped the frog image in VersaFine Onyx and and then added some silver with a Uniball gel pen.

Thanks for hopping by!!

ATSM Challenge #157 – MYM

I’m back with a post for this week’s ATSM #157 which is our Make Your Mark (MYM) Challenge.

Addicted to Stamps and More!

Here are the rules for the MYM challenge:

Make your Mark – your entry MUST contain the use of anything that can make a mark – Stampin’ Write, Copics, Promarkers, Painting, Chalks, Watercolors, Sponges, Stencils, Masks etc etc

Our Sponsor for this challenge is:

The Prize is a $20 gift certificate!

For this MYM I made 3 cards, each one is slightly different from the other,

but all using the PTI Peony Cover Plate Die and Faber Castell Gelatos.
The first 2 are a sister pair. I colored the die cut itself and used it for this first card.

I lightly traced the outline of the peony onto the card front as a guide, then I sponged some ink onto the front of the card base and adhered the die cut and the sentiment. The sentiment is a free digi stamp from Little Tangles.

While coloring the die cut I also used it as a stencil and used it to make a print for the 2nd 1-layer card.
Here’s a photo of the work in progress.

IMG_7184editedHere’s the resulting print.

IMG_7378editedI added some color with my Stampin’ Write markers and the sentiment with PTI’s sentiment swoosh stamp set.

Here is the 3rd card that I have to share with you.IMG_7384edited

Please see the following slide show for more details of how I made this 3rd card. I used the same basic technique for this last card as for the second one in this post. However, for this last card I added I white die cut on top of the colored background.

You can see the sister of the 3rd card in this post, where I used the colored die cut itself, here.
