Wow! Is this a fun and inspiring photo that we have for our photo inspiration challenge #155 at ATSM this week or what!?
I was so inspired that I made 4 cards with the Silhouette – butterfly image generously supplied by this week’s ATSM Challenge #155 sponsor Bugaboo Digi Stamps.
I printed 2 butterflies on Classic Crest Solar White cs and 2 on water-color paper. I colored all of the butterflies images in with my SU! Stamp & Write Markers.
For this first card, I masked off the butterfly with some Inkadinkado Stamping Mask Paper. Then I stamped the flowers with the Black-eyed Susan stamp from PTI’s Flower Favorites. I really like this multi-step stamp! All of the inks a Stampin’ Up. I used a white gel pen to outline the butterfly. The “hello” is from PTI’s Noted Stamp Set. That is heated embossed in black. I’m going to play this next card at SSS’s Wednesday’s Anything Goes Challenge.
After coloring this next butterfly, I covered it with Glossy Accents. Then I used the “smooshing” technique, made famous by Laura Bassen to make the background and then added some Smooch Spritz. The red heat-embossed sentiment is from PTI’s Sentiment Splits.
I’m going to play this card over at Cropstop’s Linky Party #6 – Anything Goes.
For this 3rd card I used some masking fluid to cover the colored-in butterfly and then sponged on some SU! So Saffron and Tim Holtz Squeezed Lemonade distress ink for the background. I’m going to play this card over at WAW’s Challenge #194.
I used an emboss-resist technique for this 4th card. The flower stamp is from Jane’s Doodles Pretty Peonies. After heat embossing with clear embossing powder, I sponged on a variety of SU! pinks, yellows and the Squeezed Lemonade distress ink. My 2 youngest daughters wanted me to added some pink glitter embossing powder. So I did. 🙂
Please stop on over at ATSM and check out the other Design Team Member’s creations.
Thanks for stopping by!
