Some Fun Announcements & Make It Monday #215

Wow! What an exciting week! I made the top ten over at Virginia’s View and……..I’m Guest Designing over at Uniko Studio and I’m so happy to announce that I’m joining the ATSM Design Team.

 Kylie made watermarks for the DT members. Thanks Kylie. 🙂

Is that cool or what?! I am so excited to start my 6 month term with ATSM on July 1rst! I am going to celebrate by joining in and playing a card for this week’s ATSM Challenge #150: Photo Inspiration. Make sure you play along!

I made 2 cards inspired by this photo. The first card was also designed with Make It Monday #215: Bringing the Inside Out in mind. Danielle has a fun challenge for us to try. She’s encouraging us to a decorate both the outside of the card and the inside by creating a peek-a-boo window. Here is a card that I made with that in mind:

I decorated both the outside of the card above, along with the inside too. I’m also playing this over at SSS’s Monday Challenge: Simon Says Anything Goes.

Here’s Danielle’s oh, so pretty card:

I used the beautiful painting below as inspiration while I stamped my white irises. I stamped the iris image upside down and right side up in white/SU! Craft ink. That made my irises look more like the one in the painting.

I smooshed the background of both cards with SU’s new Cucumber Crush. I think smooshing may be one of my favorite techniques. You just never know what you’re going to get, but it’s (almost) always beautiful. And Oooo, I love this new color green! I also sponged (another favorite technique) some Pool Party ink onto this second card and then popped up panel.

I used PTI’s Flower Favorites Stamp set for both of these cards. I am really really really liking these stamps!

PTI June 2015 Blog Hop

  This fun photo for PTI’s June Blog Hop made me smile.

Aren’t they cute? I ended up making 5 cards to go with this challenge!

Here’s one of my cards.On all of my cards I used PTI’s Make It Market Mini: Garden Gild Kit, designed by Betsy Veldman.

For this first card, I made my own white embossed/striped bg paper with a stamp from PTI’s Background Basics-Super Stripes. 

I used the negative of the die cut for the card above and the positive for this next card.

Next, I used an embossing folder, inked up with SU! craft/white ink to make this next card.

I tried a differnet technique for this next card. This time I used strips of white and gray paper, adhered to sticky label, to make a striped bg paper.

Once again, I used the negative of the die cut for the card above and the positive for this next card.

I had fun making my own tag by doing some partial die cutting for this card.

Life is Beautiful-Big Cosmos, Big Announcement

Today I have an exciting announcement to make! I’m one of the newest mixed media card artists at The Mixed Media Card Challenge.  I’ll be joining the mixed media card challenge design team beginning in July. To celebrate the announcement today I made a bunch of butterfly cards. I had a lot of fun making all sorts of different ones!

Here is one of the Mixed Media bunch:

 

I used a free/prize digi stamp from Stamplorations which I enlarged &  printed on heavy card-stock.

For this card I also used a Shower of Flutters – ARTplorations Stencil. I sponged a variety of SU! blues and greens through the stencil, moving it slightly to create an overlapped butterfly background.

I’m going to play this at FUSION’s {Bright Butterfly}. The sentiment is from a prize stamp set that I won over at Word Art Wednesday from Gloria, Close to My Heart Consultant. Thanks Karen and Gloria! I’m going to play this card over at WAW Challenge #188!

Fluttery Rainbow & Some Fun News

Today I have an exciting announcement to make! I’m one of the newest mixed media card artists at The Mixed Media Card Challenge. I’ll be joining the mixed media card challenge design team beginning in July! To celebrate the announcement today I made a bunch of butterfly cards today. I had a lot of fun making all sorts of different ones!

Here’s a fluttery rainbow.

I used a free/prize digi stamp from Stamplorations which I cropped and printed on heavy card-stock. I masked the flowers off with some liquid mask and then stamped the rainbow of small Trendy Butterflies. Then I removed the liquid mask and colored the flowers in with my SU! markers. Then I added some Glossy Accents to the flowers.

The sentiment is from a prize stamp set that I won over at Word Art Wednesday from Gloria, Close to My Heart Consultant. Thanks Karen and Gloria! I’m going to play this card over at WAW Challenge #188!

Stained Glass Rainbow Butterfly

Today I have an exciting announcement to make! I’m one of the newest mixed media card artists at The Mixed Media Card Challenge. I’ll be joining the mixed media card challenge design team beginning in July! To celebrate the announcement today I made a bunch of butterfly cards today. I had a lot of fun making all sorts of different ones!

I used a free/prize digi stamp from Stamplorations which I printed on watercolor paper. In the photo below the image is printed on watercolor paper. I’m going to play this at The Card Concept #37-The Butterfly Effect and AEI♥U Challenge #25 – Rainbow!

I colored the image with my SU! markers, heated embossed the outlines in black and then heat embossed the entire image in clear. Then I blended on a rainbow, traced the square with a white gel pen and got a little crazy with a combination of Glossy Accents and white embossing powder. The sentiment is from Avery Elle’s Noel Stamp set. This may be the messiest mixed media card that I’ve ever made.  My CAS side is hyperventilating! 😉
