Excited?! Yes. Nervous? Most definitely! Mostly though, honored.
I reveled in having my card chosen, by Kymona, as the winner for Week 142: Sweet. Well, I reveled for a few hours and then it occurred to me that past winners had turned into Guest Designers! Gulp! When I was invited by Melissa from CASology to be a guest designer for this week’s challenge I thought, “Yes! Wait, Oh No!!” 🙂
But here I am with my card for this week’s cue word…..
From the photos below you can see that I did some ink blending/sponging, stamped the butterfly images and then punched them out. The sentiment is from PTI’s Swoosh Sentiment stamp set. The inks, stamp and punch are all Stampin’ Up. I used Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth Solar White stock for the card base.
I have a confession to make. I made 11 different cards for this challenge! I asked my family to help me choose which one to share.
Curious about the rest of the cards that I made for this cue word? Here’s a slideshow of the other 10. 🙂
What do you think? Is there another one that you would have chosen to feature?
I will look forward to reading your comments sometime soon. I’m not sure when that will be though because I will be having a test performed on my heart today. These past few months have been a test of faith for me, but God continues to pour out His grace on me and I know He’ll be with me no matter the result. If you have a mind to, please pray for me today and share any encouraging Scripture too. I would greatly appreciate that. I pray that I will have reason to “Celebrate” as my card says, but either way I know that God is the God of the rainbow. He’s The Ultimate Promise Keeper and He won’t abandon me. No matter what!
I’m beyond thrilled to be this week’s Guest Designer at CASology!! I hope you will be sure to play along with the challenge this week. I can’t wait to see what your take is on the “Flight” cue word. Please make sure to stop by the challenge blog and check out the superb creations from the design team too. Thanks so much to Melissa and the DT for allowing me to play along with you this week.
Thanks for stopping by!

I’m also going to play over at Uniko Studio’s: Things with Wings and Time Out’s Challenge #29: You Can’t Have a Rainbow without a Little Rain.
P.S. I discovered this young man’s sign language music video the other day. I thought you might like to watch it. He signs to Mercy Me’s song “Greater”.

Melissa, I’m still in awe over this card…and the fact that you created so many more! You. are. amazing. I can see why it was difficult to choose one to feature! Your work is beautiful!!!
So happy to hear all came out okay with your test. Waiting for the results is THE worst, I think. Hugs!!!
So glad you were able to join us as our guest designer for the FLIGHT challenge! You knocked it out of the park! 🙂

Ok, so I am late to the party, but that has given me the opportunity to look through your beautiful slide-show and read your post thoroughly. Not sure why you were nervous! Your cards are always lovely, Melissa and it has been a pleasure having you GD this week. I am also very pleased to hear about your positive test results. What a relief for you and your family! Take care!

Congratulations on the well-deserved Guest Design spot on the fabulous CASology, Melissa! Your card is spectacular! Thank you for sharing the how-to!!
I’m sorry that you had to go through that horrible roller coaster ride concerning your heart with all you are going through with the neck situation. What a scare! I’m so happy to hear that everything is fine!! You remain in my thoughts and prayers! Hugs, Darnell

Melissa, your butterfly card is gorgeous; definitely has me swooning! I had a bit of giggle with your making of 11 cards; that’s so typical of my approach when I’ve been asked to GD. Make one, question, make another, question again…and so on. All your creations are wonderful, so I’m applauding your ability in narrowing the choice to the one you did. I read about your test results and oh my…what an ordeal! I’m overjoyed that the outcome sees you healthy; hopefully, you can put this behind you and move forward. You certainly embody the power of faith and prayer!
Hugs to you!

Wow, C. Thank you so much for the kind words. Anything good, strong or faithful that you’ve seen in me is all because of Jesus. Today, I’ve been looking at the waves instead of keeping my eyes on Him. One daughter has an ongoing infection from having her wisdom teeth taken out in January. Another has the flu – stomach and intestinal! I am still in pain and have all the symptoms that I have had for months too. So…… you have encouraged me today. Thank you. I needed that. You have also reminded me of a few verses in the Bible.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Sending more hugs and prayers your way, Melissa, with a bundle of extras to share with your daughters. An ongoing infection, the flu, your symptoms…you’re facing a set of challenges. I’m not sure what your symptoms are (I’m often navigating my way through one ‘weirdness’ to another *grin*) but I wouldn’t be surprised if stress and worry are part of their source. On the positive side, you know your heart is strong and healthy! I’ll pray that answers will come your way…and that the remedies are of a simple nature…the kind where you go, “really, is that all” type. Fingers crossed! Happy Sunday!
