News for the Shepherds – a one layer card

CASology Cue Word for Week 141 is “News.” I don’t know about you, but sometimes I get tired of the “news”. When I saw the cue word though, what popped into my mind was how I love goods news! Speaking of good news, I can’t imagine being in the fields outside Bethlehem when the angels announced the birth of the long-awaited Messiah, Jesus.

⁸ Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. ⁹ And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. ¹⁰ Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. ¹¹ For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

I used PTI’s  Silent night stamp set for this card. I’m playing this over at CASology for their cue word: NEWS and at Merry Monday: Angels. While I don’t have an angel stamp to use, I hope that the angel’s announcement will count for the theme of this week’s challenge. I am also playing this over at One Layer Christmas Card Challenge #7, for the challenge in the next two weeks, the twist is “BLUE”.

I made 3 different versions of this card and will be playing them in various places. Look here and here for the other two.

Good Tidings of Great Joy
