Hope for Spring

Today I have another card to share with you.

For this card, first I did some coloring on the back of some SU printed vellum and then die cut a rectangular window out of it. Next, I die cut 2 black frames. Then, I sandwiched the vellum inside the 2 squares. After that, I masked off a rectangle, sponged a yellow rectangle in SU’s Daffodil Delight and stamped my new sentiment from PTI’s Easter Alleluia’s Stamp set. I added foam tape to the window behind the black frame.

I’m playing this at Just Us Girls #286, CAS(E) this Sketch, HLS March CAS Challenge: Sponging,

Less is More’s Week 217: Combine 3 Past Challenges. This card fits weeks 3, 29 & 161   (Week 3: Spring, Week 29:Things that move and Week 161:Yellow and Green).

I’m also playing over at CASology’s Week 139:Style. I’m pretty happy with this CAS card. I think that CAS is steadily becoming my style. Speaking of style, I want my style to be Jesus-style. I think that 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 is a good picture of Jesus-style. Also, I found this definition of style: a distinctive appearance, typically determined by the principles according to which something is designed. I want my style to be designed by my Maker and want my appearance to reflect Him.

Thanks for stopping by!

Edited Sat Apr 4: I’m happy to share that this card was chosen as for a CTS Honorable Mention.

Thank you CTS!

P.S.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.

Want a reality check? Try substituting your name in every time “love ” is used in the passage above.

Ouch. I think I fail at most of these before my feet touch the floor in the morning. I’m so thankful that Jesus is long-suffering.

My husband has been reminding me very much of Jesus, he’s been taking very good care of me while I’ve been feeling so awful.

  1. What a great and beautiful card Melissa! I totally agree with you and am so very thankful to Christ that he intercedes on our behalf, for without him, we would be unable to be blessed with -or achieve on our own- the hope of eternal salvation. ❤
    Hugs,
    Nina-Marie 🙂

  2. Really beautiful, Melissa. Love the stamping and colouring on the vellum — so delicate and soft. And then there’s the big punch of colour with your sponged yellow rectangle. Thanks for playing along at Happy Little Stampers.
