Today I’m excited to share a shaker card with you.
I have been having a lot of fun making shaker cards recently!
I have also recently been admiring the work of May Park and came across this card of hers this morning. Isn’t it beautiful?
Here is one more of May’s lovely creations.
Back to my card……
I sponged the background with pink for the flower and green for the stem. On another piece of card stock, I then sponged a yellow center, drew in some details with a black marker and punched out the flower’s middle. Next I added 2 layers of foam tape to create two separate shaker sections. Then I added green beads to the stem and pink beads and flower sequins to the flower section.
The leaves, I stamped, fussy cut and popped up with foam. They are from PTI’s Pretty Petals stamp set. I added some vellum SU punched butterflies to the sentiment strip. The sentiment is from PTI’s A Cheerful Heart Stamp Set, which I absolutely love.
I’m going to play this over at Less is More’s Week 212 Wings Challenge, at the Butterfly Challenge’s #24 Butterflies + R is for Ribbon and at SSS’s Monday Challenge: No Rules.
Thanks for stopping by!
XO
Melissa

A very pretty and inventive shaker card. I love the flower and the vellum butterfly but I do need to see some ribbon too. Thankyou for fluttering by my butterfly challenge. hugs Mrs A.

This is simply gorgeous and clever! I love the contrast of vibrant colors on the florals and then the airy, softness and muted tones of the vellum butterflies, a perfect balance. Always such a treat to stop by your blog and see your lovely creations! Oh and a bit belated but congratulations on the year of stamps, wow!! If you ever get a stamp set you think needs another home, I’d absolutely be willing to make the sacrifice and give it a nice, safe home. Hehe š
