Yo

Here, I have a masculine card to share with you.

This card was actually inspired by Michele’s for Muse’s Callenge #104.

Michele’s card:

I know that I totally missed the deadline for that challenge, but I have some very good reasons.

1.My computer died. Dead.

2. Two days after my computer died, my family and I went away from our house (and my card making supplies) for almost a week.

3. Upon return, I made the card, starting setting up my NEW computer, forgot to check the deadline, went to bed and then discovered the deadline had passed about 2 hours too late. 😦 I was very disappointed.

Oh well!

So, in keeping with my card, I’d like to say,

“Yo, Michele! I wanted you to know that I appreciated your card. I have another one in the works inspired by yours too.” 🙂

However, this week’s Challenge #04 over at the Male Room happens to be

Make your Own Background Paper”, so I’m going to play this over there!

See the process of making the background paper below.

I made background paper by die cutting 4 different colored chevrons, attaching them to sticky label paper, slicing the paper into strips, realigning them on more sticky label paper and then trimming into a rectangle. This was very fun, relaxing and a bit like doing a jigsaw puzzle.

Thankful Blue

Here’s another blue and white card that I have to share with you.

Inspired by Leigh’s sketch for CAS(E) this Sketch #110, I made monochromatic (CASology’s #134) card.

Thankful A-Musing Hearts

IMG_0941

I used PTI’s Heart Cover Plate Die to  partially die cut the hearts and then I did some fussy cutting.

My card was inspired by Marion’s fabulous one below.

Marion is the Muse this week for Muse’s challenge #105. I really really like Marion’s card!

IMG_0902

Like Marion, I also did some ink blending. Then I trimmed the paper into two pieces, rounded the corners and drew the wavy lines on the ink-blended watercolor paper with a white gel pen.

Maybe not so CAS as the other one behind it (below)? Not sure about that, but maybe it’s a good fit for CASology’s Week #134; Monochrome Challenge?

Monochromatic Muse Inspiration

Today I’m thinking of some good friends that got some bad news and my brother and sister-in-law who had their first
baby, a girl, born. Living far away from friends and family sure can be hard!

Here’s a card with that in mind:

I used PTI’s Heart Cover Plate Die to partially die cut the 3 hearts.

My card was inspired by Marion’s fabulous one below.

Like Marion, I did some ink blending. I added some metallic blue dots to the sentiment area with a Signo gel pen.

Here’s another look at this little monochromatic baby. A good fit for CASology’s Week #134; Monochrome Challenge I think? Speaking of babies, I think I’ll do this in PINK too!

Stay for Tea, a one-layer card

Here, I have yet another tea cup card! I’m loving playing with this Stampin’ Up tea cup stamp from the Tea Shoppe stamp set. I think that the set has been retired?

IMG_0963 IMG_0967

Inspired by Leigh’s sketch for CAS(E) this Sketch #110, I decided to try a one-layer, love (Less is More’s Week 211), monochromatic (CASology’s #134) version of this tea cup.

I stamped the “steam” in “Encore” silver metallic ink with a PTI stamp from the Silent Night stamp set. It’s in PTI’s “Vault” now.

IMG_0964I applied Hero Arts blue ink to the entire cup and then used cotton swabs to remove the ink from the flowers and leaves. Then I used my Stampin’ Up markers to apply a variety of blues to the flowers, stems, leaves and the ribbon.

Please excuse the sub par photos. I’m still figuring out the software on my new computer. Iphoto is not cutting it and it does not play well with Adobe Photoshop Elements! Maybe I’ll try to take some more photos  of this card tomorrow.

Would you like to see some other Large Tea Cup cards that I have made recently?

Look here. And Here.
