Sparkly Birthday

Here’s a card that I have to share with you.

I don’t have a place to play this card, but I wanted to share it with you anyway. 🙂

If you follow along at Nicole Heady’s blog, you might have noticed that this card was inspired by this week’s MIM #200: Layering Cover Plate Die Cuts. My head was almost exploding with ideas inspired by this challenge! 😉 You can check them out here and here too!

Hot Pink Birthday Candle Watercolor!

Here’s another one of my cards inspired this week’s CAS(E) this Sketch #108!!

I made this card for my mother to give to my niece.

Here is Gayatri’s inspiring sketch for CTS…

There were so many great cards shared by the CST’s design team this week. I was especially inspired by Hannelie’s fun and colorful one:

I wanted to add some polka dots to my card.

The “18” is a big part of the sentiment, so I’ll play this over at Just Us Girls.  CASology’s cue word is “Hot” for week 132, with the hot pink and the candles, I think my card qualifies, so I’m going to play this over there as well. I tried a watercolor technique and will try playing this over at CAS-ual Fridays too.

I wasn’t sure about whether to add the center of the eight back in or not.

I took a photo of the card before, without the center in the 8. I really liked that by leaving the center of the “8” out you were allowed to see more of the water coloring,

but in the end I decided that the center gave it a more clean, simple and finished look.

MIM #200- Rainbow Layered Cover Plate Hearts

Hi! Here’s a card that I made for Make It Monday #200: Layering Cover Plate Die Cuts with Dawn McVey.

IMG_9695edited

I cut out ROYGBIV card stocks with PTI’s Hearts Cover Plate Die. When I watched Dawn’s video on Monday, this idea came to mind instantaneously and then came together very quickly! I’m playing this over at SSS’s Monday Challenge H is for… (Hearts!) Speaking of hearts, you should see the pile of little die cut hearts I have! Thankfully there are always garlands to be made after Betsy’s inspiration last week! 🙂

I was inspired to try some other ideas too. Have you ever noticed how one card can lead to many more?! If you’d like to, you can check out some more of mine, inspired by this challenge, here ,  here and here!
