Today I’m sharing a very non-traditional card for me style-wise. I created a somewhat messy effect by directly applying ink to my background. I definitely took this as a chance to explore and play with ink… per the advice of the Monday Challenge Team over at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog.
This background came about from another project. I had inked up some die cut hearts with my gold ink pad. The hearts were sitting on top of pink card stock. When I was finished inking the hearts I liked the look of the pink paper, so I set it aside to use another time.
Using a heart stamp, I added some different blue and green hearts to the background.
I used some Tim Holtz Distress Ink, a PTI sentiment stamp and my just-opened-last-night Fiskars Stamp press, all “NBUS”, to make this card. I am enjoying playing along at the NBUS challenge; it definitely is encouraging me to try that never before used “schtuff”. Check out another one of my cards for this challenge here.
I think that I’m going to like the above stamp press. I had a smaller version of it, but this one is making me super happy!
Note, I spelled schtuff incorrectly on my notepad. 😉
