I’m Melissa Dawn Lane. Jesus follower. Happy wife of 20 years to my best friend. Mother to four fun and wonderful kids. Daughter of two very special parents. Home school teacher.
Melissa, the name, comes from the Greek word μέλισσα, “honey bee”. I have read that, in Ireland, it is sometimes used as a feminine form of the Gaelic male name Maoilíosa, which means “servant of Jesus”. I like that.
My life is full of beauty. For many years I have loved gardening and photography. I’d be remiss if I forgot to mention cooking and organizing things. I love to cook and organize! Over the past 19 1/2 years, I have gardened, photographed, cooked and organized in many places around the world as a military wife. Growing, capturing, cooking or creating beautiful things (like a well organized sock drawer or spice cabinet ;)), bring me great satisfaction. Hobbies add beauty to life. Wouldn’t you agree?
Recently, I have discovered a new hobby passion. In 2012, my friend, Cindy, introduced me to card making, also known as “stamping”. I’m so glad she did. I love the world of paper crafting!
“Honeybeelane” is my blog dedicated to all things card making. If you’re interested, you can find some of my first blogged about cards (prior to January 2015) over at my other blog, here at Lanes in the Promised Land.
Thanks for stopping by!
XO
Melissa
